Description: secret identity toys

Okay, I used to have these toys called M.A.S.K. I had an orange truck that popped up on it's axles and became bigger, it had a little motorcycle attached on the back and a driver with ...bump-a-da-dum...a mask! I remember the name grasshopper associated with this toy. I loved it! I traded some things that I can't remember to a boy for it. Was there a cartoon that went along with this series of toys? Does anyone remember what M.A.S.K. is an acronym for? Do you even remember these toys at all?

Ah ha! Mike and I (it was collaborative, lol) know that answers to your questions!
There WAS a cartoon for M.A.S.K. and he DOES remember the toys. We actually saw slot car M.A.S.K. race track at a yard sale last year but they were asking way too much (especially since it didn't have all its pieces).
M.A.S.K. stands for
Mobile Armored Strike KommandThis link may help you identify the toys you had way back when:
M.A.S.K. toysHere's another really great M.A.S.K. link:
http://www.kenner-mask.com/ I glanced around the main page and it looks like they may be creating a new M.A.S.K. toyline. :)
Hope this info helps! :D

So cool. I followed the links and found that my truck's name was Firecracker and my brother had that motorcycle called Piranha, it's side car looks a lot like one of Cobra's water vehicles. I don't remember which guy I had because I called him Grasshopper. Thanks for the help. I'd love to get just that truck again, but I can't pay an arm and leg for it!

That is so cool that you found exactly which ones you and your brother had! I haven't noticed how much they go for... Is this toy line expensive to collect? I know if I see any around, I will surely pick them up for you ;)

OMG,I remember MASK.I used to watch that with my brothers when I was younger.
Toys and cartoon are a Japanese co American production.Since the Transformers concept is Japanese, the Japanese helped out with the cartoon I read someplace.
But I don't remember the name of the mechanical designer. :hkangry
Derryck (my brother) remember Elliott having the MASK car a long time ago back where I used to live,Kingston,NY.

Looks like most of your questions have been answered! I remember M.A.S.K the cartoon... I'm not sure if I watched it because I don't remember anything about it other than it was on tv. But I think it was before or after GI Joe. I LOVED watching GI Joe!!

Hey croww, this one's for you.......you remember the boulder hill playset from the m.a.s.k. toyline? Well those wakos at kenner reused to playset for the new upcoming star wars revenge of the sith toyline.....want proof? look at hasbro toys at toy news international, look at the star wars episode 3 playsets......Kenner, cheap greedy jerks.......saving money and taking ours!!!
Croww - March 23, 2005 11:52 AM (GMT)
That is too funny. If you've ever collected or seen the Marx figures (vikings, astronauts, cowboys, etc...) They reused the heads all the time. It's quite funny if you collected the entire line, since you'd have one guy be a viking and cowboy in one playing.
BTW, I always thought Kenner was simly a bunch of greedy jerks. LOL
