Okay, so I'm an HP fan(atic) and yes, I've had my book reserved since April! I spent the better part of yesterday dumping out boxes of papers to be filed, un-displayed toys, and rescued from the kids' rooms toys. I also went through my file cabinet twice in search of my receipt that shows that I have a book on reserve...along with a free t-shirt. I almost broke down in tears many times thinking that I was going to miss out on my free HP book release t-shirt. But, alas, I found my receipt...in the file cabinet...in the file folder labeled 'receipts'...in a special envelope along with other 'important' receipts.
:D :woo :hkhappy :ha :cheesecake :cheers :moose :yoda

I even woke up very early and made it to TRU before they opened, in case there was a line, which there wasn't. And I got my book and my t-shirt. :D

Congrats Melanie!!! I didn't buy the book, but I'm on the library waitlist (on 2 different library systems), and I have been on the list from the day I found out that the book was coming out (mid-Jan). But unfortunately, lots of people got on the list before me, so I think it'll be a month (1 check-out period) before the book makes it to me... which isn't too bad considering that the waitlist is up to 2000... and it looks like I just missed out on being in the first "round" of people to read it! Today, I checked & I'm currently #75 on the list when I originally *was* like #560.

huh? I went to the grocery store by our house, and they had signs saying HP wasn't out till the 18th??? Is it only hard bound at first? I have to wait for a paperback to be released.

Congrats on your shirt and book, Mel! I want to see a picture of your shirt! :clap

I'll have to get a picture in my shirt! :D

It is only hardcover at first. I'm not sure when it comes out in paperback. Generally, it's six months to a year for the books I usually read.

oh, bummer! I didn't even THINK the libraries would have a waiting list... so there goes that. I guess I will just borrow it from my sister when she's through to read... then wait a year for the paperback to buy.

They have another HP movie coming out this year too! I love the movies. :poochie

Joyce! I hope the 74 people before you read that book fast and get it back to the library. I'd bet this one is a pretty quick read. Iian started reading it the day I brought it home and since I was already reading something else, I'm waiting for him to finish. He's like on chapter 7 already and that is in between all of the other things he has going on. :D

I just went and checked... I'm #66 on the waitlist today!

I'm pretty fortunate to have access to 2 library systems. The main city library is pretty big and very nearby, but the county library system is humungous (and right near the Sanrio store LOL)... so, it looks like they bought 500 copies of the book!!

Anyway, if I find out something is coming out soon, then I will check to see if they've entered it into the system, and then I get on the waitlist for when they get it in! I do this mainly for DVDs. It's nice 'cause they also deliver the book/DVD to the library branch of your choice (that means you don't have to wait until someone returns the book to *your* branch... they transfer the first available copy to yours!)

Oh... I should mention that the county library system is sooo nice... they had those SSC & CPK collectible books by Jan Linderburg (sp?)! The Boston library system didn't nearly have as nice a selection as here. So, I think that is very cool!

Oh, that is very cool, Joyce! You'll have that book in your hands in two weeks or less, it looks like!

Oh, Iian informed me that he's just completed chapter ten. I'll be reading it very soon it looks like! He is going crazy not being able to chat with me about certain events. LOL

I love the movies too, Cindie. We make it an important thing to do as a family to go to the first run theater. We have to since it costs so much for us all to go!

I'm #41 on the waitlist now! At this rate, I'm going to have it by the weekend!

I had the book on reserve the day it became available to reserve at our bookstore. Then I got to dress up like professor Sprout and hand out books at our store.

I was naughty too! Teasing people left and right and going to hand them their book and moving it when they'd try to take it. One girl about my age declared that she was going to cry. Another guy said he was anxious and then handed me his ticket which had been folded so much that it was falling apart!

I'm on the part of the book where... hehehe just kidding! :D I've just begun chapter 14.

I'm not loving it yet, but I'm not hating either. We'll see how it turns out. So far it seems like there's only been one huge twist and two small events.

Amy

OMG! I just check the waitlist and I'm #1 on the list!!!!!!!!!!! So, it should be ready for pick-up tomorrow, I hope!!!!!!!! (Which would be super convenient since tomorrow is double stamp day at the Sanrio & the library is right near there!)

LOL Joyce! That's great you'll have the book to read! actually, I guess you have it already! :D

and that's funny, Amy! I didn't know people got that worked up! (I guess I shouldn't mention that I haven't read ANY of the HP books... eh? LOL... I get them for my husband!) :poochie

My sister has it... so I'll borrow it from her when she's done. I can't be on a waiting list! and my husband isn't picky when he gets to read it.
