I've never really "watched" the series... but that is pretty cool that they are starting the new "season" in the summer!

Joyce, this show is the best sci-fi show on television right now, imo! I just love it, it's so intense. I just finished watching it actually. :D

Well, so much for my joy... LOL
Last night, I decided to go check out the guide on my satellite and see the description for tonight's episode. When I hit the channel and time, I was surprised to see no mention of the series. After some websurfing I realized that Space (the Can. version of SciFi) will not air season 2 until Jan 2006. That's right... in six *** da** months!!! The reasoning behind this is that they want to run the season without any reruns. So, in the meantime, Space will air the original series, the movies, the 2003 miniseries, and season 1, leading into their airing of season 2. Crap...
Ok here's the news South of the border...
SciFi will air only 10 episodes of the latest season, from July til September.
Then, the network will air the final 10-11 episodes, from January til Spring.
In between, viewers will be treated to reruns.
Now, I think both situations are a little crappy, and I'm not quite sure which is better.
Melanie: How was the first episode? :)

Croww! OMG, that sucks! I'm not sure which I'd like better either. I don't really care for the classic version of BSG. I did when I was a kid, but now, I can't stand to watch it. During the break between last season and this new one Sci-fi did show the classic BSG and they did have a mini series month during which they showed the new BSG mini series (I've missed it all three times they've aired it!). Also all during the 'break' they showed the same line-up in rerun version every Friday night and then had a whole day dedicated to Atlantis right before the new season started last night. So, I am used to having the season, the re-run season, the new season and then reruns again...and so on. That is how most of our tv shows are actually. I think if I was told all of the sudden that , "okay, you've watched the first season, then you've watched it re-run, and now we're going to make you wait another six months during which we're only going to play all the same stuff we've played over the summer...then give you the finale all in one big bang!" I think I would just fall to my knees in tears of woe! :lol Also, I have this odd tendency to skip the end of a series, because I do not want it to end. For example; I had waited three years to read the next book in this awesome series that I have been reading for 7 years. I stalked the author's website and pre-ordered the book through Amazon, which never came. There was a horrible printing error which delayed the U.S. release of the book and I couldn't wait so I ordered it from the U.K. and started reading it the day it arrived in the mail. But, about halfway through the book I realized that once I was finished with it, I'd probably have to wait another three years for the next one, if there is a next one...and I started reading it more slowly...the next thing I know, I've put it back on the book shelf unfinished. Still. I suppose that little tangent was my way of making the point that I do not mind an interruption between the next ten episodes and the last ten episodes of BSG. Good shows come along so rarely...and everything I used to watch seems already to have ended or is about to, i.e. Six Feet Under.
I am so sorry you missed/have to wait for the season premiere, Croww, however, I can only tell you that it's probably worth the wait. I am not a spoiler person. :P Oh, and you really ought not to peek at the episode summary!

Hey again,
I did get to see it! Wow. It looks like this upcoming season will be truly amazing! I was blown away with the constant interaction between the characters. I was really happy with the personal discussions mixed with the warlike action. The flashbacks were really fun to watch.
It just seems like I'm rambling... LOL
Great stuff.
