Teddy Ruxpin comeback3 cheers for Teddy. :party
I don't think it will be any more successful now than it was when Yes! rereleased him in the late 90s.
In the age of things like Furby,a bear that simply tells stories with no actual interaction with the child isn't going to go very far.Teddy Ruxpin could be a great toy if they would simply update him a little.
As a general rule I prefer rereleases of 80s toys to remain as close to the original as possible. But Teddy Ruxpin isn't a plush or action figure that is pretty much timeless. It's a tech toy,and tech toys can't thrive unless they improve as technology does.Give him sensors that lets him know when the child is talking to him,or holding him or touching him and let him respond to them.Make him more than just a tape player with fur.
From the article all they're doing is updating the medium with which he plays stories. They need to do more than that.
