I'd have to go with Rainbow Brite all the way because they didn't do anything new to her. She's the same old Rainbow cutie. :wave

Probably Care Bears since they finally got around to releasing a Loyal Heart Dog plush in the new line.I've wanted one since I was a kid and now he sits by my keyboard.

I'd have to say that MLP is the cutest on the list! I'm with Joyce though, I think that the new CPK are adorable. And in my opinion, much cuter than the originals!

I really love MLP... but I think the CBs look most like the originals!

So far, my vote for best updated 80s character goes to "Care Bears" with "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" as runner up.
I have no beef with toy/greeting card/animation companies who remodel their characters for a
new generation, if they also bear in mind those who supported
the originals, back in the day. :moose

I know I already said it, but I *love* the new Cabbage Patch Kids. I think my fave part is that the Asian ones are included, and that they come in all the different faces. The originals ones didn't have any Asian kids... and even the later mattel/hasbro had them confined to ONE particular face. I think it's a really great that they made them in all the different variations!
BTW, has anyone seen the new Brazilian Strawberry Shortcake dolls? I love them more than the American versions! They used the vintage molds on them, so I think their faces are cuter!!!

I think I MAY have seen those Brazilians but I'll have to look again. It would be nice to actually get at least one of them :)

Man, I love the Brasilian SS dolls too! I have OB (of course!) and Ginger Snap. They are my most favorite of the new SS dolls and I wish so berry much that I had them all!
