Description: When I'm older

When I'm older,I hope to own a Asian accesory shop with Anime and Sanrio goods one day.I also want to deal in Transformers and My Little Pony (vintage only,
not new) too. :mlp
I'm wondering how I can buy the vintage toys.Do I have to buy them at Hasbro's
stockroom where they store all the old 1980s toys or a special dealer?. :cpk
I might even want to deal in Godakin, vintage Gundam models,Rockman/Megaman,
and mainly Giant Robot toys. ^_^
Hope my dream comes true. :sleep

I don't know if you can buy vintage toys... I doubt Hasbro, etc would keep big stocks of these toys in their storehouses all these years! Storage costs money!! So, I assume you have to get them in the traditional way (buying them second-hand), or maybe a personal dealer who has some stocks left.
I'd love a Hello Kitty store... from what I know... you *can* buy old stock/products, as long as you find a dealer who has some!

That is a sweet dream! I think LullabyLambie is right and it's highly unlikely that you would be able to buy old toy stock from the original producers. Good Luck on your store though. What kind of Asian accessories are you thinking about, btw?

I think maybe if it was an Asian grocery store with a big Anime/Sanrio section, you'd get more business... There's the big Japanese grocery store here and they have a pretty decent selection of Japanese goods/Sanrio. So, if you got a shop inside a grocery store like that, you'll probably find more customers going in to browse. Although one in a traditional mall would probably draw a lot of (or even more) customers too.

Wow. Pretty cool dream! You girls all have great ideas on how to go about it too. It's funny, I sometimes have dreams of finding vintage MIB stuff on the shelves in stores. :ha

I'd say go to every yard sale or flea market or secondhand store you can get to and keep a record of what you paid.
Then you can rent a table at a flea market or vintage toy show or a fair or wherever and see how you do. You'd have to sell somewhere that collectors would go to if you want to get a good price. Or get a website and sell from there. It's an awesome idea.
Of course if you wanted to run a grocery store as well you could advertise by flyer, newspaper, etc that you sell vintage collectables also. And fill up your window space with pics.
Good luck.

BTW,I'm RollChan1985 and I'm a huge MLP,SSC,Rainbow Brite,Transformers and Giant Robot fan.I also like to collect Sanrio and Japanese Anime goods. :hkhappy
My Little Pony was one of the best toys I had as a little girl.I used to have 3 boxfuls of them.
I do get the point of people dealing lots of money on the vintage ponies. On this one site,Strawberrycenteral.com,for just one vintage Strawberry Shortcake doll in box, they are like $325.00 and I'm not kidding.
Welcome to this berry good site BTW.
