Title: Winx Club
Description: Cool new Fairy/Witch dolls made by Mattel
Berryblue - September 15, 2004 01:51 AM (GMT)
LOL! Can you tell I am never on Ebay! LOL!
That is soooooo cool Melanie! I just love it!!
Have you seen the mini plush pets yet? Marmalade is here at our WM, just let me know if you'd like me to pick her up for you. :) Vanilla Icing is SO cute! I *almost* bought her the other day when I first saw them but I can't bring myself to buy one for so much (they are so small and are $8 cdn!!).
Oh and speaking of WM, I have been meaning to ask you if you've seen the new fairies made by Mattel? I think they are called Winx Club (?) I LOVE them and always think of you when I see them. I will have to find a link maybe to show you if you haven't seen them yet. They are the cutest.

hmmm, are they kind of chunky? I don't think I have seen them in person, maybe on that one website where they were showcasing their new line. I really want the new fairy barbies with the tiny fairies! I have seen the fairytopia wonderland playset...but I won't be buying much of anything for awhile. I haven't seen any of the new SS berry mini friends plushes yet. I need to get my big butt over to Target tomorrow to have a look see! Their bmf are cheaper than WM by a couple of bucks. I can't even buy wearables at Walmart because they cost so much. We also have TRU and many other stores, I'm just lazy.
If I don't find a marmie plush by the beginning of next month, I may ask you to hook me up though. You are such a sweetie to offer to help me out! :D

Check out this link to find out more about Winx Club:
Michael's Winx Club pageWinx Club on FoxboxApparently, I have been out of the loop, having first seen these characters in WM a few weeks ago. lol This show just started in early June (with a special airing on May 22nd) of this year. I am always yard saling on Saturday mornings so I have yet to see an episode. I *know* I will love this though because I have read the whole story and it really sounds cool. So, be sure to check out those links and read the story about them.
It sounds SO cool. My favorite fairy character is Bloom (so far). I also think Darcy and Icy look cool for witches though.
As far as the dolls, I am drawn to Tecna (purple one) and Bloom (red head wearing aqua). They are all so cool though. lol
Here is a pic of the dolls (although I haven't seen a witches yet, I know I'd want some of those, lol):

Oh yay, and Mike told me to finish my next email to you saying...
SPOON!!!

That is my birthday, LOL
I saw the orange one of the Winx faeries today at Kmart (I went looking for new ss stuff and cpk). She was adorable! I can't wait to check out those links! I have to get Iian to guitar lesson and then we are going to TRU. I saw a cpk with the strawberry overalls, light brown hair and brown eyes at Target. I may go back for her, but I wanted one for me (so she has to look like me, right!) not Taigan. But at TRU they have these small, exclusive cpk dolls with all vinyl bodies and I want to check them out because amazon/tru didn't have many pictures up and they sound cute and are only $10.99 So, if they have one in an asian outfit I'll get it for Taigan for Christmas. I'm taking the boys, so I'm sure they will want one too. Boy, do I go off topic or what? Anyway, I'm going to check out those links when I get back because those faeries are awesome. The orange one said that her wings light up, but I didn't want to remove the plastic separater to check it out. I didn't even look at their price!
berry elvish - September 16, 2004 02:25 AM (GMT)
 Uh-oh, I'm replying to my own post, And I JUST noticed that this has moved to another section, derrrrrr....
I looked at TRU and they didn't have any of the Winx dolls, but they did have the chunky faeries that I thought you were talking about first...I think they are just called faries. Anyway, I went to the FOX winx club website...HOW AWESOME! I'm going to have to make it a point to watch this Saturday. The boys look hot, B) I like how they list their stats too, like what their power source is.
Berryblue - September 16, 2004 03:09 PM (GMT)
Isn't it cool??!! I love how they each are from a different place and there are witches and three different schools, etc... I think I will be taping it this Saturday while I am gone. LOL I can't believe that I have missed out on this! *kicking myself for not knowing sooner*
I really would love one of the dolls that are witches, like Icy, Darcy, or Stormy.
I think the doll in the background is Darcy in the pic above.
Oh and I went to WM last night and was drooling over the Winx fairies they had there. lol
I told Mike that I'd probably not want to buy ALL of them, just one of each maybe (like one fairy, one witch, one boy). lol He's probably thinking "oh no! Not another collection!" LOL!! I am SO bad!!!
berry elvish - September 16, 2004 05:56 PM (GMT)
LOL. I know!! I saw them at Target today. I really want them, but I'd have to have all of the faeries. In fact, if I ever see them all together at a store that has a layaway, I'm going to put them on. They would work really well in Taigan's future Faeries and Elves room. :D I'd like to get her some Brian Froud stuff too, right now she just has one BF poster. :D I didn't see any of the witches though, just the faeries. I wanted to buy Musa right then and there! I don't have a clue as to how to record from direct tv, or I would totally be recording this Saturday's show. It would be so cool if they put it out on dvd...cuz I now can copy them. (shhhhhhh)
1u11aby1ambie - September 19, 2004 06:39 AM (GMT)
I added a reply before I saw that this topic was "split" and I have no idea where that post went... so I hope it got put in the right place... LOL
I adore those new mini friend plushies. I still need to find another Vanilla Icing and I have yet to see any of the others! As for the 5.5" dolls, I'm only getting my fave ones (I think Angel and Orange from the new line are must-haves for me) and any new characters... and I think I need those new fillies!
Berryblue - September 20, 2004 03:11 PM (GMT)
LOL
You DO need those new fillies! It is funny how I am more excited about the new fillies than those new dolls with charms. Although, I must say that I am excited about seeing new characters. I think I am bored with seeing the same characters in different outfits, ya know? :)
OH and Melanie!
I was able to catch the Winx Club episode they played on Foxbox on Saturday and then yesterday on a kids channel here they played what I believe was the first ever episode. I think that channel has started the series from the very beginning and I was lucky enough to catch the first one. They were all moving into Alfea (their school) and Bloom was pretending to not be from Earth. lol And now that I have seen two episodes, I have that theme song stuck in my head every time I see "Winx" LOL!! *We are the Winx!* lol
berry elvish - September 21, 2004 12:56 AM (GMT)
Erin, I meant to ask you if you got to watch it. I tried, but it comes on at 7:30 AM here and I missed it by an hour and a half! When I looked it up on the fox website it said 8:30 and I didn't even think that it was a different time zone! Well, now I know. What is this kids channel that you have that is showing it from the beginning???
wonderberry - September 21, 2004 02:09 PM (GMT)
the Winx are so cute!!!! what's the name of the brunette in red?? I really like her!
Berryblue - September 21, 2004 04:10 PM (GMT)
The channel is a canadian kids channel called Ytv. It is very good for showing different shows (I think they show new SSC cartoons - like the Christmas one at Christmas time and I'm pretty sure they showed my favorite, Family Circus Easter!) LOL
Cindie, the Winx fairy wearing red with the dark hair is named Musa! Her power has to do with music. In one of the episodes I watched this weekend, she attacked the witches (Icy, Stormy, and Darcy) with blasts of music. lol
Oh and Melanie! The pets are hilarious!!! The witches have one and the fairies do too (I think the witches have a duck which they make fun of - the duck fights with the fairies' pet...I think they have a bunny (?))
They cracked me up. lol
wonderberry - September 22, 2004 12:26 PM (GMT)
Musa, huh? That is awesome! I love that she uses music! too cool! :D
berry elvish - September 22, 2004 04:48 PM (GMT)
Oh, I can't wait to see this cartoon!! Cindie, Musa is the cutest action figure, I think. I am buying her first. :D Oh, I guess, I am starting yet another collection of toys. LOL :hemanwink
wonderberry - September 22, 2004 05:36 PM (GMT)
I guess I'll be working on another collection also! I've been reading about the Winx Fairies on the internet all day... I'm hooked!!! I really like Musa the best.
Thanks Erin!

this is my rendition of Musa from the dollmaker!
Berryblue - September 22, 2004 06:45 PM (GMT)
WOW!! That is soooooooo cool Cindie!! Wait til you see her in the cartoon. After watching her in the cartoon, she is by far the "coolest" :)
And, I know what you mean about being hooked because so am I! I really want to have the witches. Icy and Darcy are very very cool :D
I also hope the pets are released. lol Man, I could go on and on!! LOL!!!
fairyfrog - September 23, 2004 08:14 AM (GMT)
:elf Ohthose dolls are gorgeous!! And have you seen the Fairytopia Barbies? I don't collect Barbies.. but they are sooooooo beautiful!! :ssc
fairyfrog - September 23, 2004 08:17 AM (GMT)
Ops sorry.. I reposted the same thing... my server is playing tricks on me.. so my internet is a little screwed up! :P
berry elvish - September 26, 2004 01:27 AM (GMT)
I caught the last 15 minutes of Winx this morning! :D First of all, I didn't know it was pronounced winks...I have been calling it Win X (jon's been making fun of me and calling them Windex) And I love how they ended with a cliffhanger. The witches called forth a nightmare demon (I think) and he was sent off to the Winx school. :D I have got to get the vcr set up to record this, since it's on too early for me and I have had a sleep-dep headache all day from jumping out of bed at 7:45 AM. (I am not a morning person!)
Adline...I love the new Fairytopia Barbies with the miniature sprites/faeries! I want them pretty badly. I did just purchase the Secret Spells Barbies trio that came out in 2003, so I'll have to wait on the Fairytopia's for now. :)
Berryblue - September 26, 2004 10:10 PM (GMT)
Yes those Fairytopia Barbies are SO cute! I love the mid sized ones (maybe they are mermaids)? The teeny tiny ones are just adorable too!! lol I guess I love them all! lol
OMG Melanie you are so funny! I am the same way you are when I don't get enough sleep. lol I, too, am not a morning person at all. lol I am pretty lucky with the time zoning because I can watch it at 11:30 am est from the west coast feed nstead of 8:30 am est.
I missed the episode this week's episode but was able to see, what I believe is, the second or third episode of the series on that channel I was talking about before. I am figuring that since this channel has started it from the beginning I will be able to catch up on everything then. I just LOVE the witches. LOL They crack me up big time. lol lol And it's funny you mentioned taping them, because I was *just* thinking that I wished I would've taped last week's episode (since it was from the beginning). Oh well! lol
In the episode I caught today (so the 2nd or 3rd one) it was cool because we got to see Stella, Musa, Flora, and Tecna all dressed up because they had a beginning of the school year dance (ball). Blossom finds a dress later and you get to see her dressed up too. Musa definitely looks the coolest IMO. It's funny because when I first saw the dolls, I liked Tecna and Blossom but as I actually watch the characters on the show, I like Musa and Tecna as characters. :)
Better stop now...I guess I could go on and on about them!
And LOL @ Windex!!
wonderberry - September 27, 2004 01:41 PM (GMT)
Windex! LOL! to funny Mel!
I can't believe, I completely forgot to watch for the Winx on Saturday morning!!! I'll have to try again this weekend...
I agree with you though Melanie... I wish they showed them later! I will have to set my VCR to record it too... I don't get up that early on weekends, unless I have a great yard sale to go to!
wonderberry - October 11, 2004 06:51 PM (GMT)
well, my baby is teething (got her first tooth on sunday!) and was up the last couple nights. So, I was awake at 7am this last Saturday, and finally got a chance to watch the Winx Club for the first time!!!! too cute!!!
it mostly focused around Bloom, but I still like Musa the best!
Berryblue - October 12, 2004 12:36 AM (GMT)
Musa is the coolest in the cartoon too! (Well that's MY opinion of course! LOL)
Sorry to hear that your little one is teething. I hope you have been able to catch up a little with your sleep lately :)
berry elvish - October 12, 2004 06:43 PM (GMT)
I keep eyeing the dolls at TRU, but I want them to be $9.99 instead of $15. I'm such a cheapskate! And I want Musa at least. I think it's cool that we all have an affinity for the same character. I read in my TRU wish book that they will be releasing Winx themed clothing really soon.
Berryblue - October 13, 2004 12:47 AM (GMT)
Oh wow!! I bet that clothing would be soo cool! You will have to get Taigan some Winx club clothes! LOL!!
And I am right there with you. I, too, am a self-proclaimed "cheapskate"!
The dolls here are 19.99 and I can't bring myself to spend $20 on one when I know it would be better to buy a pair of pants or a shirt or something. LOL
wonderberry - October 14, 2004 02:51 PM (GMT)
cool! I didn't know they'd have clothes! I haven't even seen the toys here yet! I want to get one for Megan for Christmas, but I'm sure she won't know what it is... she hasn't seen the show yet. I'll have to record it so when she wakes up, she can watch it then.
what's happened to kids nowadays? I remember I used to wake up bright and early just so I could watch Saturday morning cartoons. Megan sleeps in super-late each Saturday, and misses all the good cartoons.
berry elvish - October 14, 2004 04:22 PM (GMT)
Well, when we were kids we only had cartoons on television at certain times. All the best ones were on Saturday Mornings. We also had a few in the morning before school and a few after school. And kid's tv/programming was on pbs or nova, which is also on pbs. LOL Our kids have so many cartoons to choose from and kids programming is on all day long, it's no wonder that they don't get excited about Saturday Morning cartoons. Kindred always gets up early, he racks out early too. I don't watch much tv at all. I really hope they put the Winx club on DVD, LOL. I dvd obsessed, I guess.
Berryblue - October 14, 2004 05:20 PM (GMT)
I know what you girls are saying and you are so right Melanie. Kids are so spoiled with all day kids programming. They are lucky enough to have channels devoted to cartoons! It does take away the excitement that we used to have on Saturday mornings. I mean, I have so many fond Saturday morning memories. It's kinda sad that kids nowadays don't have what we did. So, I guess I am saying we were the lucky ones afterall. lol
Cindie, you should tape the Winx Club for Megan because you have a good excuse to buy a Winx club doll! LOL
As much as I want one, I really need to get rid of some of my other toys before I break down and get one.
BUT...I must I admit to you, if I see a Darcy or Icy doll, I will get them rigth then and there with no hesitation! LOL I just love those witches!! LOL!! I am sooooo bad!!!!
P.S. I agree Melanie. It would be so cool to have the whole season on DVD ^_^
wonderberry - October 21, 2004 12:30 PM (GMT)
oh, I love that they have all these different shows on DVD.
they finally have the Winx dolls at our Target! I dug through them till I saw Musa, and showed Sean and told him she was who I wanted. He laughed. He thinks I'm funny. Hopefully they'll go down in price by Christmas. I will have to buy them for Megan. I know she'll love them anyways... what's not to love?
Berryblue - October 21, 2004 10:42 PM (GMT)
Aren't they the CUTEST?!?!
The dolls are just so so so adorable IMHO :)
I think they are a little pricey though (for me they are $25) :o
Have you girls seen the newest Winx Club from last weekend? It is really getting good right now... Last week's episode was really cool because Blossom actually returned home and the witches had her all alone without any help from her friends. Did you see it?? Did you see it?? :D
wonderberry - October 22, 2004 01:34 PM (GMT)
no! I didn't see it! I always sleep in Saturdays, and I keep forgetting to set my VCR to record! I've only seen two, and they both mainly starred Bloom. I want to see more of Musa!
berry elvish - October 22, 2004 01:57 PM (GMT)
I'm going to set my phone to ring at 7:15 in the morning, since I don't have an alarm clock, well Jon's but his stuff is his stuff. I've been getting up early all week!
Berryblue - October 22, 2004 04:21 PM (GMT)
LOL Yes Blossom went home to Earth feeling like she didn't belong there and she was only trouble. I think it was a plan set up by the witches to get Blossom all alone so she'd be overpowered and unable to receive any help from her friends. It was cool because you got to see her parents and her life on Earth. There is a mean girl that picks on her...etc... It is really really getting good so you have to see it. I know they will show clips from last week's show so you will catch on to what's happening fast. I am actually really looking forward to tomorrow's episode. lol lol
Just like a kid... *sigh* :)
berry elvish - October 23, 2004 01:20 PM (GMT)
Oh, My Darkness! I saw it! I saw it! My phone worked great at getting me up on time. I love, love, love it. I can't wait to get it on dvd. :b The witches are the best! So Evil. I fear for the show, since anything that has to do with magic is usually heavily attacked by the Christian population around here. But, it is on FOX, so that gives me some hope. Anyway, Darcy, Stormy and Icy stole Bloom's Dragon Fire and summoned the Army of Decay. Is that the one you all watched this weekend???
wonderberry - October 26, 2004 01:24 PM (GMT)
I missed it yet again. I'll have to wait for it to come out on DVD. another one revolving around Bloom though? she must be the popular character.
berry elvish - October 26, 2004 01:34 PM (GMT)
Apparently, Bloom is the main character. She just found out that she is the last remaining decendent of the royal line on her planet, so I gathered from the last episode. And her boyfriend, or the guy she likes, just revealed that he is the prince of his planet...I think. I think this because when he called the Winx house the girl was rude and implied that she didn't know what to call him, his name or prince whatever. And during the battle of the Army of Decay, some pretty girl came in a heliocopter-thingy with some gaurds to try to whisk the prince away, but he wouldn't go. I am assuming that she is his betrothed or the princess his parents want him to marry. They have to put this out on dvd!!
Berryblue - October 26, 2004 05:32 PM (GMT)
Yep!! That is/was his supposed fiancee and in a past episode, Bloom mistakenly thought it was really Icy dressed up in disguise to ruin the big ceremony/fighting at the School of Heroics or whatever it is called. lol
If you ever see that pumpkin that they sometimes talk to, she is a girl from the witch school who was badly teased by the three witches (Darcy, Icy, and Stormy) that was turned into a pumpkin by them. Ever since the fairies have taken her home to Alfea to try to lift the spell. THEREFORE, since they haven't been able to break the spell, she is still a pumpkin. I look forward to seeing them turn her back but I am thinking that maybe she will remain one for a long time (she already has helped them by seeing things at night while they are sleeping) :)
And the witches ARE the coolest and I laugh every single time they are on!! I just love them. lol I saw a commercial for the dolls and they showed all the fairies PLUS Icy! I have YET to see an Icy on the shelf though. I think she may be rare or something (or maybe not released, like what Bandai did with the first Angel Cake - Talk n' Giggle doll). As I have mentioned before, if I ever see a witch doll, I wouldn't even hesitate.
AND... I recently realized that WM used to sell the dolls for $20 but now they are $25
I am right there with you Melanie!! I cannot wait for Saturday just to watch Winx Club! LOL I sing along to the theme song and everything!! LOL (heehee *surely driving Mike insane*)
OH!! I almost forgot! On Saturday I watch THE first episode on Ytv. Bloom first meets Stella fighting an Ogre on Earth and she tries to help her and discovers she has magical powers. Later, you find out from her parents that she always used to "pretend" she knew magic and was a fairy when she was little. lol From there, Stella suggests that Bloom attend Alfea, etc... It was a really neat episode and I really, really want the WHOLE thing on DVD to watch from the beginning! :D
wonderberry - October 26, 2004 07:23 PM (GMT)
the dolls are $15 at target here, but I haven't seen the witches yet. I hinted to my husband that I wanted Musa and showed him to her. then a few days later he said he was buying me toys for Christmas and knew exactly which one to buy... Yea!
Berryblue - October 27, 2004 01:36 AM (GMT)
Oh yay!!!! Cindie's getting Musa! Cindie's getting Musa!
YIPPIE!!!
I am dying to get my hands on ANY of the witches in case you guys didn't already know!
wonderberry - October 27, 2004 12:45 PM (GMT)
I'll keep my eyes out, Erin... and if I find one, I'll get her for you
