Title: 80s Movies?

Berryblue - March 22, 2005 02:36 AM (GMT)
I just thought I'd strike up a conversation here...lol I was just thinking about how much I love certain 80s movies and to this day can watch them OVER and OVER again.
Number 1 on my list is The Breakfast Club!
For some reason, I can watch that once a week and I usually pop it in the dvd player at least once a month if not once a week! LOL!!
Number 2 would be Labyrinth. Gotta love the Jareth the Goblin King (David Bowie). LOL!
Number 3... Poltergeist and if I had that one on dvd I would be watching it ALL the time *mark my words!!*
Any of the brat pack movies are good to watch over and over again, I must say... Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles... etc...
So, how about you guys?? What 80s movies do you love sooo much that you can watch over and over and not get sick of it? Or is it just me

I'm a Dirty Dancing lover. I don't have a copy of it, but whenever its on I am so there!
Breakfast Club is great as well. My brother and I have this "inside" joke about that movie...whenever someone mentions it we start saying "flip you" because that is what the TV version says instead of F%&$ you and it's so stupid we just love it!
And then there's Footloose...ahhh...one of my old faves.
I'm sure there are more but my mind has gone blank

I love the 80s movies... even the dumb cheesy bad ones. It's the nostalgia factor that makes me watch them if they come on tv!!

Oh... I found this site on 80s movies!

"Flip you" OMG...they are sooooo bad with the editting on like TBS or something. It's horrible! LOL

Thanks for that link, Joyce. I will have to take a better look later but I just browsed and right off the bat saw The Outsiders! OMG!! I love that one too!! LOL!!!!

I love anything with Molly Ringwald in it. :D

Gremlins is for the cutie Gizmo. :P

Gremlins! We have that one on video. I remember that part 2 way okay but 3 wasn't from what I remember anyway.... lol

I actually used to love horror movies when I was little too...so I guess I'd have to add Friday the 13th part 1 and 2. Since we lived in a rural area there was a dirt road by our house and I remember scaring my grandma really bad while we were walking around dusk. All I said was, "hey grandma...camp crystal lake..." LOL She always tells me how much I scared her that day!! :ha We were in the thick of the woods on a dirt road after all and it really did look like the scene where the girl is running from the jeep in the beginning of part 1. LOL!!!

I love Labyrinth! In case you couldn't guess hehe. ;)

My second fave is Stand By Me. River Phoenix and Kiefer Sutherland! OMG :love

There was a Gremlins part 3? I didn't know that! I remember being super scared of Gremlins 1, but then Gremlins 2 was more silly than scary!

Correction... I am thinking of 2. There haven't made a part 3 but I see that they are talking about it all over the place. I can't imagine. Therefore, strike what I said above, 2 had to be sucky (if that's a word, lol).

Stand By Me is a great movie too. River Phoenix was so great.
I remember being in love with Wil Wheaton too. LOL
Kiefer Sutherland... is another one...lol *thinking of The Lost Boys now* heehee

I can't think of any movies that I really watch over and over, but here are some I get sucked into if they are on the TV. Labyrinth, Legend, The Hobit, The Last Unicorn, Weird Science (I've been thinking of making a blinkie of this one for awhile now!), anything and everything with River Phoenix!!, any star wars movie, Conan: the Barbarian, The Terminator, Somewhere in Time, The Princess Bride, Superman, Grease and one non-80's: The 5th Element.

I never got to watch any of the brat pack movies when I was a kid, so I don't have those memories, but I have seen them all at least once by now though.

The Princess Bride is one of my all time favourite movies. I guess I don't think of it as an 80's movie bacause Molly Ringwald isn't in it! :P

" My name is Inigo Montoya...you kill my father...prepare to die" I love that
And good ol' Andre the Giant. :( He's missed.
