Title: Barbapapa Family

I don't know if they had any toys or not, but I am the only person that I know that remembers these. It was a short animated show on PBS in Canada. They could change their shapes and they were so neat.
Barbapapa FamilyCheck it out and see if they ring a bell!

awwww--they look cute--I don't remember those AT ALL though... :o

Me neither. But they are really, really cute and I'm sad that I have never seen them! They remind me a little bit of
Mr. Men characters.

I don't know Barbapapa either... but I was also thinking they reminded me of Mr. Men (even though I didn't remember what they were called until Erin posted the link)!

The Barbapapa family were great.
It was a very, very simple cartoon that routinely played on TVOntario.
Ahhhh good times...

For years I have remembered these characters and I thought I had lost my mind. No one knew them...thanks Croww and thanks internet. I'm not alone now. I'm going to look for the episodes...wish me luck! Do you think TVO still has them?
Croww - March 13, 2005 05:52 PM (GMT)
Sorry Purplestar,
I checked out TVOntario and TFO (the french equivalent) and no go...
the show has been replaced by the likes of Blue's Clues and Bananas in Pyjamas.

This is so odd. I was at the thrift store and I actually found 2 Barba Books! :D
They are kinda like comics but with a thicker cover. I can't believe that they were there. I mean, I haven't thought of the Barba's for years and then within a week or so of bringing them up...I find the books. Coincidence? Or something else....

Awesome, I'm sure purplestar will be thrilled to see a fellow Barbapapa fan on the board! I know most of us were stumped when she told us about them. They are really neat looking. :elf

Oh wow, wait til Mike sees them! He loved Barbapapa too! For some reason they look so familiar to me. I know they aired in Canada so I'm thinking maybe I saw them on a cdn channel. Sometimes we'd get to watch stuff from Kingston since they were just across the lake from us :)
