Title: Worst Smell!

Shellberry Shortcake - March 5, 2005 07:43 AM (GMT)
ok-I know this isn't on topic...but I smell a skunk outside..seriously..it's gross--what the heck are they doing out there wandering around in 20 inches of snow?

I can't seem to post a reply in the worst smell poll... so if a mod can add this over there... that would be great!

I picked garbage as the worst smell. I hate the sour, rotting smell! Even worse is that I ate rice in a seafood restaurant that seriously tasted like it was soaked in garbage juice. I was going to vomit! I spit it out into my napkin. And why is it when I say something tastes really bad... someone suddenly wants to try it! (I wouldn't let my friend eat it... it was just toooo gross!)

Shellberry Shortcake - March 5, 2005 08:20 AM (GMT)
hmm..I wonder if I did something wrong?

and YUCK! that is a bad smell too!!
:eww

right now though-it's skunk for me.
it smells like it died in the next room

Gosh, Shell, there are so many different odors that offend me, but I just went with Stinky Feet. That is the grossest smell on your list. Incidentally, skunk odor is not offensive to me...in fact, I kind of like it from a distance. I guess I smell it a lot living in the country...and in small towns in general for about 15 years. :P

It must've been a glitch last night... it seems to open the reply page just fine now! But I swear I tried at least 5 times before I gave up! All I got was a reply page without a reply box (just the 80's toyland banner). I was able to add my vote perfectly fine though!

Shellberry Shortcake - March 5, 2005 11:23 PM (GMT)
hey Joyce--I tried it last night too--I couldn't reply either!

berry elvish - March 6, 2005 03:35 AM (GMT)
:o :D Witness my first 'merge topics mod'! ;)

Great job Mel!!

LOL... Shell, I have no idea what was going on last night! I was just freaking because I voted but couldn't reply. I didn't want you to be wondering who "secretly" voted!!! :ha

Shellberry Shortcake - March 6, 2005 08:44 PM (GMT)
yes-good job Mel! Thank you!

Joyce I would have known you were the secret voter since it was just you and I on that night, lol

:ha

LOL! Great work fixing that up, Melanie :love

This is a funny poll! LOL I chose "Garbage" although cat pee is pretty gross too. Garbage or spoiled food is one of the most disgusting smells...especially if something like meat or chicken is associated. lol Rotten vegetables are pretty bad too (like cauliflower or broccoli) :eww

purplestar - March 8, 2005 05:09 AM (GMT)
I had to go with garbage. I throw away kitty litter, guinea pig shavings (very smelly...worse than cat pee)and dog poop, plus the usual stuff. Whenever I open the pail to add some more I have to hold my breath. GROSS. And it's worse in summer.
I do have a skunk living under my deck, so if (when) my dog gets sprayed I might change my mind!

I went with OTHER... now... okay.. this is gross... I can't even begin to describe this to you... but I work in a jail, in booking. and we get these same drunks in all the time. they're usually public intoxes, so they just get booked and released. well... they constantly urinate in their pants, and since they're homeless bums, they never change or wash their clothes... or bathe. we're talking YEARS of this building up. also, one guy defecated in his pants, it poured down his leg, and filled his boots and when he took off his boots while searching him in, it dumped out on the floor. Everytime since then... he still has the same stains on his clothes, and the build up still in his boots. He is by far the worst smelling prisoner ever. And that is the absolute worst stench I have ever smelled. You can smell him the minute they bring him in... even if I'm in a completely different area of booking. I actually gag while I have to book him in... then I can smell that smell for days. it's like it sinks into my skin and I can't get rid of it. so yeah... years worth of built up pee and poop sunk into some bum is the worst smell I can fathom. The prostitutes that get booked in come in a close second. They "work" all day, and don't bathe either!
I will gladly take cat pee, skunk, garbage, or the "bog of eternal stench" over these prisoners any day!!!! :eww

I am soooooooo sorry that you have to smell that, Cindie!!!! *gag*

purplestar - March 14, 2005 11:55 PM (GMT)
That is disgusting! :o
Can you spray them with Lysol or does that violate their right to freedom of stink?
I saw a guy in Walmart one day that had a poop stain on the back of his pants. I didn't know whether to laugh  or cry :( . I don't live in an area where you usually see that kind of person. They kinda live downtown mostly. And this guy was buying something that a homeless person wouldn't need...I think it was some motor oil or car type fluid. But it was definitely a poop stain, a big one!
I am so thankful that I have a home...I'll have to remember this when I complain about it being too small.

LOL, I just read this quote of mine on your post, and thought I should verify, that by "bum", I meant homeless person... I wasn't trying to draw you too well a picture. hahaha

yeah, I spray them with lysol when I talk to them... but it actually makes the smell kinda worse, to breathe in the two smells together, and it does nothing to extinguish their "scent". I straight tell them that they stink. occasionally, they will get charged for "open container" or something on top of the public intox, then they don't get released right away, so they have to shower. but you give them the liquid soap in their hand, and they just stick their hands in the water and rinse the soap off their hands. they won't even clean themselves with it! You'd think they'd want to!

Berryblue - March 17, 2005 08:53 PM (GMT)
LOL @ "bum" with the double meaning... :ha I wasn't thinking the more "graphic" version. :ha
blllechhhhh!!!! :eww
Man!! My MIL knows an elderly lady that acts the same way - doesn't like to clean themself. When she was living at a nursing home, the aides had to fight her to get her cleaned up. This is the same lady too, that had a ferret that crapped allllll over the house and it was left like that for months and months... years even... Her toilet was BLACK and since the lady now lives in her house again, my MIL occasionally goes there to clean the place up. :eww I will not even go near the place.

1u11aby1ambie - March 17, 2005 11:38 PM (GMT)
ewwww Gross!!! I live in a house and there is a cleaning lady that comes once a week... but I still think the other people don't keep it clean enough during the week! I can't imagine a black bathroom... ick! :eww

Berryblue - March 19, 2005 08:30 PM (GMT)
I can't imagine that black toilet either... Every time she mentions that place, I cringe thinking about how filthy and stinky it is. I don't understand how people can live in such extreme filth and not want to clean THEMSELVES even! :eww
