Title: He-man Movie In The Works
Croww - February 27, 2005 09:07 PM (GMT)
Here's the latest news on the movie:
Rope of Silicon has a rumor that "Alias" and "Elektra" star Jennifer Garner is up for the role of She-Ra in the John Woo-directed adaptation. "Plus our insider tells us that rumors of Jason Lewis and Nicolas Cage being involved are false ... shooting is expected to begin before the year is up."

What do you guys think?

I don't mind Jennifer Garner but I don't see her as She Ra. It could grow on me if they dye her hair.
Nick Cage doesn't suit this type of movie in my opinion...and I can't think of who Jason Lewis unless he's the guy that played Smith on Sex and the City. If so, then too bad he's not going to be in it. I don't mind looking at him :P
I saw the original MOTU movie with Dolph way back in the day. He was perfect for He man!

heehee...I remember the old He-man movie... I think we have it taped off tv somewhere. lol
There goes Nicholas Cage again... wasn't he once rumored to be in the Superman movie too? I heard he is BIG into comics.
This MOTU movie will be cool to see. I really hope they do a good job on it. I have a hard time seeing Garner in the She-ra role too but I have never seen her with blonde hair sooo...maybe :)

Ladies.....Ask wildfire .......I look like Nic Cage, heck I could be his stunt double.....But the reason I posted isn't my looks, It's the fact his last name is from the luke cage comic book, he had it legally changed to cage because he didn't want special treatment because of his uncle was the directer of the movie the godfather........can't say I understand, but it's a fact none the less.

Yes, I have heard that before. I wonder if Sofia did the same thing whether she would be getting such great reviews.

I never knew that! what was Nicolas Cage's real last name? I don't know who Jennifer Garner is... I'll have to look her up on the internet. why can't they ever find a decent actor/actress to play these roles? it just ruins the movie if the person doesn't fit...
I agree with you on Smith from SATC. I think he'd make a great He-Man! and he looks good with his hair like he-man too! I'll have to look up both these people and see what they look like.
I think it would be cool to have a he-man movie though!! :sun

okay, I looked them up... ew no! Garner would not be good at all. I liked her in 13 going on 30, but She-Ra is not her role! I do think that Jason Lewis would be good though... he IS the guy Smith from SATC. I can't think of a good She-Ra though...
How about Jessica Simpson?

Okay, I like Jenifer Garner. I liked her in Dare Devil (though I didn't really think that was a good movie), however, I think they are giving her too many comic book type roles and she should not be She-Ra, in my opinion. And MMmmm Jason Lewis is so super cute! He definitely could pull off He-Man, however, he is not a very big guy. I think it's great that they are making another He-Man movie and I really hope they take advantage of all of the movie-making-magic that is available these days and produce a qaulity movie. :D
Oh, I don't really remember what She-Ra is like, but I really hope that she isn't anything like Jessica Simpson, except maybe a blonde! I can't stand that person [Simpson]! :eww

I don't know... I love Jessica Simpson!
ok... I'm kidding. I just had to play the typical role of a man here. lol

I just saw a picture of She-Ra and the first person I thought of was Amy Yasbeck. If she had blonde hair she'd look just like She-Ra. However, she might be too old or too 'funny' since she's a comedic actress. But I do like her. :D
purplestar - March 2, 2005 03:47 PM (GMT)
Puh-leeze, we have had enough jessica Simpson...but she's better than her sis. I actually signed the online petition to stop Ashlee from performing.
Amy Yasbeck with blonde hair is very interesting. She's not a name you hear often.
For a young She Ra I could live with Anne Hathaway (blonde, of course). I think she's wonderful. What about Uma Thurman or Daryl Hannah? Kate Hudson?
As for Jason Lewis...Smith was the sweetest gut EVER. He doesn't have a HeMan body though....how about HHH from the WWE? Except he looks cranky all the time. There's a body builder named Gunter Shlierkamp (possible spelling errors) and he could be HeMan except for the accent. And he probably can't act!
:snowdrop My daughter just loves adding these smilies to my messages!

geez... I like Jessica Simpson! I just think she's really pretty... and she's more natural, than sleezy, like Britney Spears or something. But, I guess she wouldn't be good if not a lot of people like her! I had no idea. She is going to play Daisy Duke though on the Dukes of Hazard movie. I think she'll be good for that.
I was thinking Kate Hudson, or Gwyneth Paltrow... but then.. they don't really seem tough enough either. They should just dye Elizabeth Hurley's hair blonde and let her do the roll!
:orko <-- OMG! it's Orko!!! too cool!! wonder if he'll be in the movie??
Berryblue - March 4, 2005 08:48 PM (GMT)
LOL It would be cool to see :orko in the movie! :D
I think Anne Hathaway would be pretty good with blonde hair as She-ra. She is very wholesome and girl next door looking :)
I am sick of Jessica Simpson too but am looking forward to seeing her as Daisy Duke (just to see how she'd be in an actual role). I agree that she is WAY more talented than her little sis.
purplestar - March 8, 2005 02:52 PM (GMT)
I don't hate Jessica and I agree that she is not sleazy like Britney. I have never heard any of her songs or seen her act. I have seen her reality show and I am amazed at how clueless she is!
I don't think anyone answered, but Nick Cage is related to Francis Ford Coppola and Sofia Coppola is FFC's daughter. She directed The Virgin Suicides (have not seen it) and Lost in Translation which was OK, but I did not think it deserved all the hype that it got.
As for He-Man and She-Ra, whoever gets the role better do a good job. I want a great action movie not a joke. It needs a great director.

It has GOT to be better than the 80's one (PLEEEEEEASE!!)
