She's a character on the new Fox saturday morning cartoon on the 4kids tv lineup... The show is called Mew Mew Power and it just premiered last week. I am already loving it!! Here's a link to the show: http://4kids.tv/mewmew/

Each character gets their power from a different endangered species. Very, very cool!!!! :D :D

Mew Mew Power (AKA Tokyo Mew Mew in Japan) is a berry cute Anime. It's like Sailor moon almost. :bbm

Berryblue - February 21, 2005 11:28 PM (GMT)
Very true! I said that to my hubby on Saturday...that it reminded me of Sailor Moon :D

Oh and in case anyone was wondering about the Winx Club...you can watch the first episode (a full episode!) on 4kids.tv here and it actually says you can watch up to 3 episodes of each show!:

*click to on Winx Club* YAY!!!

I was going to ask you if you drew that Mew Mew (of course I didn't know who she was at the time). Awesome! She is adorable and with my favorite hair style too. Does she have something in her hands? What is her power from? What is her name? CUTE!

Taigan has been watching the Winx Club over and over and over since I first showed it to her! Sheese! I played the first four episodes, they start with the song and go through all four episodes and end with the credits, so it's like one long episode. So, I think it's the first three story lines. Like first Bloom finds out she has magic, then she goes to Alfea, then there is confilct with the witches. It's awesome and I love to watch it without commercials. :D I had to stop it the first time Taigan was watching it and she turned to me and said in the cutest voice, "mom, please?' and pointed at the monior. I turned it back on. Then later she was just watching it and she said, almost under breath, " I wuf the winx" OMG, it was so cute, I grabbed my digital camera and tried to get her to say it again. She wouldn't. :(

Her name is Corina (English) / Mew Mint is her alias.
Check here for more about her : http://www.absoluteanime.com/tokyo_mew_mew/mint.htm
Here's the "mean" character:

And omg!!! I literally LOL here when I read about Taigan saying that she "wufs the Winx" That is soooooooo cute!! LOL!!!! Is this the first time she got a chance to watch it? She's going to love the dolls, I bet! (if she doesn't already) lol

We are the Winx...come join the club...we are the Winx! :ha :ha

Girl Power!
Mew Mew Power™ follows the adventures of five girls who possess the powers of endangered animals and must battle aliens who want to destroy mankind - when they're not busy with homework and boyfriends, that is.

It all starts when an ordinary high school girl becomes infused with the DNA of an almost extinct wildcat. Transformed into a crime-fighting cat, she must now find the rest of her crew as soon as possible so together they can save earth.

Only time will tell if these teen girls - these super natural heroes - will be up to the challenge!

Japanese Animated Series
This show follows 4Kids' formula for taking the hottest properties from Japan and localizing them for kids around the world.

Mew Mew Power boasts a history of success in Japan as a comic book that inspired a highly rated television series. The Japanese merchandise program consisted of over 20 licensees creating over 200 different products.

The action-packed series is expected to premiere on 4Kids TV™ in 2005.

4Kids plans to launch the licensing campaign in the U.S. in 2005.

Also, here's the high speed link to the opening of the show:

I can't find a ton of info yet... but Corina's animal is a bird ( I can't tell you the exact species though...they said it on the first show). It is like pulling teeth to actually find info on the characters it seems so if anyone comes across any more info...pass it along please please please! :P

We followed the High Speed Link to the Opening and Taigan and I both agree...It looks Awesome!

I think I need to talk DH into shelling out the extra five bucks a month so I can TIVO fox box! :lites That makes 3 shows that I really want Tivo'd: Arrested development, Winx Club and Mew Mew Power! Yeah!

It was the first time Taigan had watched the Winx Club. She picks up my Icy doll and says, "I want to watch this, Mom" Oh, btw, Jon says we saw the Brandon doll at Kmart...I'd better remember to go buy it soon.

Berryblue - February 22, 2005 05:45 PM (GMT)
LOL at Taigan picking up Icy to tell you that she wants to watch Winx Club!
You'll have to show me a pic of Brandon once you get him. Very cool! I am wondering if they will release Darcy. They need another witch, I think! I thought I saw a darcy doll in a commercial or on a site... so maybe they'll put her out next. *scratching head*

At the end of January, Foxbox changed their name to 4kids tv... I don't know what the deal is with that...but... lol

I still need to find out more info about Mew Mew Power. Fox's site for them is really crappy right now. I want some info about the characters...with their animal's species listed...etc, etc... I want to read the comic if I could find it, that is. Renee is a really cool character,btw... She wears purple and her past is that she is a famous singer (or was one). They all work at a cafe together (which is sort of their headquarters). Since I only saw that first show, I don't know too much about it but... what I've seen only makes me want to watch more. :D :love

Berryblue - February 22, 2005 10:01 PM (GMT)
Found info! Corina's animal is an ultramarine lorikeet. Their DNA is actually mixed with the endangered species therefore, they are sort of like mutants.
The anime boards are upset over Fox's dealings with the series and are complaining about it being butchered and the names changed over to English ones. I wish I could see the original Tokyo Mew Mew stuff. I'd love to see the translated comics.
Here's a link to some mew mew manga:

In a way, I understand their frustration, but then again, some people aren't exposed to anime and it's a good way to see it and be able to enjoy it, you know?

Here's a link to tell you lots more stuff about the mew mews :

:hkhappy That is true. I wouldn't have known about Inuyasha if it hadn't been translated, dubbed and aired on television where I would have access to it. After being exposed to an Anime with an endearing story line and being captured by it, I then went in search of the Japanese version. So, I think that is a very good point, Erin.

Berryblue - February 23, 2005 06:33 PM (GMT)
That's what I am doing now! I have found some Tokyo Mew Mew episodes and now I get to watch it with subtitles! :D

This has really inspired me and now I am starting to draw a lot of other manga things. It's insane how engulfed in this I am!! LOL
