Oh boy! I can't wait to see a picture!
You know, you just reminded me (and I haven't remembered this since I was little)...I wanted a guinea pig soooo bad! LOL I remember begging and begging my mom for one. lol A year or so after...I wanted a parakeet and my mom finally caved

Congrats on the new addition, Shell! That is so cool!

Good for you! Guinea pigs are sweet. We have 2 that we adopted from Petsmart. Someone left them in a ditch  and another person found them and brought them to the store.
Just a little bit of advice...they poop a LOT! Always have extra woodchips on hand!

And on a sweeter note, they will whistle when they want to talk to you! Whenever I come near their cage, or rustle a plastic bag (they think they are getting fed) they start whistling. It's really cool.

Have fun with Fluffy. :D

That's berry cute. :beer

I used to have a guinea pig when I was 5 years old named Blondie.I remember this on time I fed Blondie with plastic lettuce and she ate it.She didn't even get sick too.LOL :elf

I used to squeeze that Blondie and squealed berry hard, which wasn't berry nice of me....oh well,I was only 5 years old.

Then Blondie died a few years after and I was heartbroken that day crying all day long. :hksad

Have a fun time. ^_^

I had one several years ago.She was the coolest.I used to let her go outside and play under a bush. All i had to do was call her and she came running. She would spend all day outside eating the leaves off the bush never trying to run away. She was killed by a dog that had gotten out of its yard and found her. :hksad I've tried to get my hubby to let me get another one but he says they look to much like rats.He doesn't like them.

I want a Kitty!! The landlord has a cat, but I rather have a fluffy one! Whenever I play with it, it tends to nip and scratch me too (It thinks my hand is a cat toy!)

Very sweet.
Do you let her run around the house? Just wondering because she doesn't look like she's in a cage. :yogurt My daughter wanted me to put that there!

Shellberry Shortcake - February 19, 2005 11:08 PM (GMT)
lol--Hi daughters! :wave

we only let her run free in the kitchen--but we do take her out in the living room too -we usually hold her on our laps..
her cage is in the living room-I hate seeing her cooped up in it so I take her out as often as I can.

I think she is cage trained =she hasn't gone to the bathroom on either of us yet, lol

She's cute! :D I always wanted a piggy. I had a hamster a couple years ago but she escaped from her cage in the middle of the night and my dog must have been there and well, yeah, no more ham-ham. :sad

The dog has passed since then but with 3 cats now, I'm still afraid to get any small animals.

(Oh and the dog didn't die because of the ham incident, it was old age. It seems like I did the dog in or something up there! lol)

I have 4 cats and they don't bother the GP's. Even when I clean out their cage, I leave them in the top part of the cage with the lid open...the cats go right in there and sniff them and that's it. No problems. And 2 cats were strays that didn't grow up around the piggies.

That's good to hear. I have 2 lazy boys and a wild little girl kitty. Maybe they wouldn't bother one too much?

Hey Joy--the lady we got her from said that their dog liked her too much, lol

when ever they took her out of her cage--they would block the dog from being in the same room with her and the dog would cry and cry....

purplestar - February 28, 2005 12:12 AM (GMT)
I think my dog would give a GP a heart attack. I keep them away from him! I took my piggies out of their cage yesterday and let them roam around a small area so that I could supervise. The cats were right there, watching every move the piggies made, but they never tried anything mean. The cats are extremely curious...not interested in eating them though. And one of my cats is a decent mouse catcher so she does know how to catch critters, she just doesn't want to hurt the GP's.

PS...the 2 stray cats are up for adoption if you know anyone in Windsor!!!! Long shot, I know!
