omg! I remember that!! Joyce--are you going to get that??

that would be super cool item to add to your collection.. :exercise

purplestar - February 15, 2005 01:37 AM (GMT)
 Would you actually make a cake that looks like a baby...then cut and eat it????

Nice for a collection, though :)

Berryblue - February 15, 2005 05:30 PM (GMT)
LOL!! purplestar!! heehee

That cake pan is awesome. I don't know if I remember it from way back.
Are you getting it, Joyce??

sniper - February 15, 2005 09:12 PM (GMT)
The force is not strong in the oven, or is it?

1u11aby1ambie - February 15, 2005 11:25 PM (GMT)
I was thinking of bidding on it and I forgot! It went for a good price, I think. I think it's harder to decorate than it may seem... you still have to draw on all the details by hand, so I wasn't sure if I should get it. I want to get a 3D lamb cake pan though. Although, I *may* have problems "cutting" into it. But I can't just save a cake forever!

purplestar - February 16, 2005 04:27 AM (GMT)
It would be very hard to decorate a CPK cake. So many different colours and textures to apply. It would be a shame to eat it, for sure. You'd have to take a lot of pics.
I agree with Lambie... I couldn't save a cake forever either. :P I mean if you want to get technical, you could freeze it and take it out to show it off, or just to look at it, or talk to it when you're lonely...
But I am more of a pie kinda girl.

1u11aby1ambie - February 16, 2005 10:12 AM (GMT)
LOL... I could name it "Lambie cake" and play with it! :ha I imagine my brother would get some sadistic pleasure out of "cutting" the head off or something. I made a bear cake for one of his birthdays like his favorite childhood bear... and he made the "enemy" bear stab a knife in the forehead when it was time to cut it!

Eek Purplestar! What's that scary evil-looking icon you have?!!

BTW, I love pies too. But, cakes are more fun to decorate.

berry elvish - February 16, 2005 06:17 PM (GMT)
I have a vintage SS cake pan (and a He-Man too!) and I have made the cake and decorated it with the cake decorating bag and tips...Oh, man that takes forever! The first time I did it it must have taken me two hours. Then I made a Spongebob and free-handed a Patrick to go with it...that took at least an hour and the last cake I made (another Spongebob) also took an hour...and that was just the decorating part. I like how they turn out when you do the little stars though. :D

Berryblue - February 16, 2005 07:03 PM (GMT)
I love cake decorating or decorating cookies for that matter. I've never made a character though. I mostly have made flowers and ribbons and stuff like that.

I do have a Wilton Rainbow Brite cake pan but haven't made "her" yet. There hasn't been anyone who would want a RBB cake and I can't really eat all that sugar anyway soooo.... :(

It's too bad you missed the auction though, Joyce.
I am guessing this one will turn up again...heck, I may even see it somewhere around here :)

purplestar - February 17, 2005 12:15 AM (GMT)
Well Lambie, I don't know what the icon really is called, but I call him a S#$% disturber. He likes to mess with people's minds! I found him in the list of avatars on this site. I like him!
He's not completely evil...I don't think

1u11aby1ambie - February 17, 2005 12:58 AM (GMT)
Melanie... there's a "triple star" tip you can get for decorating cakes. That should speed things up (unless that's the tip you've already been using!) I haven't done any "character" cakes yet. My brother's bear cake was just iced with regular chocolate frosting from a can. Maybe I can do a little Hello Kitty cake. I have like a personal size microwave cake mold.

Berryblue - February 17, 2005 07:23 PM (GMT)
OMG that would be adorable and not too difficult to start with, I think. If you do, you'll have to show us *wink wink* I love looking at everyone's creations

purplestar - February 18, 2005 05:24 AM (GMT)
Did you say "microwave cake pan"?
I have never heard of that. Have you ever tried to make a cake in the microwave? Did it turn out?
I am extremely curious :)

80's Freak - February 18, 2005 06:48 AM (GMT)
The site is down ???? it!.... :( I really wanted to see it...sigh

1u11aby1ambie - February 18, 2005 12:52 PM (GMT)
I have made cakes in the microwave (there is a box mix you get that came with the Hello Kitty mold). OH... traditional Japanese households don't have ovens, so I think that's why all their cake pans are microwave ones. Any kind of cake they make is steamed. I can't read Japanese, so I don't know an "official" recipe for microwave cakes... I just kind of used a regular cake batter.

Purplestar, I remember my grandma and mom making cakes in the microwave and they always turned out nice and moist. My grandma uses the microwave for everything I think :ha
