Title: Joyce!
Description: I saw the cutest CPK
Berryblue - February 11, 2005 04:08 PM (GMT)
I was digging through the boxes last night at WM and came across three beautiful Asian girls. ONE is on sale since it isn't cornsilk but I wanted to tell you about her because she had the face that you like with the closed mouth. She was wearing the outfit that is blue and and pink - with the cardigan with the letter "C" on it and the pleated type skirt. Her hair was in two side ponytails but they were braided. I think she had bangs...
That one is $24.95 or whatever at WM. I think her name was Dakota Alberta. lol
Then there was a few cornsilk Asians. One had straight hair no bangs and I think she had the same mouth as the previous. I can't recall right now what she was wearing... I need to bring a camera in there. lol
The other one had wavy hair and one of those "fake" hair pieces for bangs (totally didnt match of course - they were brown, lol) The thing with her is I think she had an open mouth smile with two bottom teeth.
Of course, there is that cornsilk Asian girl at Zellers, no bangs, open mouth smile with two top teeth in that cute blue and pink florally type outfit (flared pants and bandana).
If there's anything in particular that you'd like, let me know. You should see me here! LOL It's like I am on a mission. Must ....find....Joyce's perfect....CPK!! :ha :ha
P.S. I have also been looking for lambies too!:)

Those dolls sound sooooo cute!!! $24.95 is a great price too! Wow! You saw lots of Asian cornsilks! I think I'm looking for 2 cornsilks because I just can't make up my mind!!
First choice: wavy hair w/ bangs, the closed mouth smile/no dimples
second choice: straight hair no bangs, 2 bottom teeth
outfits: the blue/pink floral top-pants outfit or the blue satiny dress
Like these dolls (these were pics from ebay... but they were listed at $50-54!!)

(they can be wearing either outfit)

Hey Joyce! I hope you find the one you are searching for!!
:wave
oh--I wanted to tell you--I stopped at the antique store today to see if they still had the cpk kit--they do & it comes with everything needed to make a cpk
also-the front of the box has a sticker that says "I'm a Redhead!"
the price was 20.00 plus 25% off of that....
1u11aby1ambie - February 13, 2005 05:41 AM (GMT)
Could you tell what color were the eyes? (do I need to stitch on eyes, are they iron ons? Can you tell?) I probably won't make a redhead, but I could probably substitute yarn. I have no idea how much those kits are supposed to cost... I'll look up on ebay and let you know :)
Shellberry Shortcake - February 13, 2005 05:53 AM (GMT)
ok-last post before bed, lol
I didn't check anything other than to see if everything was included--I can check again though next time we go.
because they know me--and the lady 'knows' me--she may give me a better deal on the kit--I'll have to email her to see.
check a price if you can and lmk
I did a search for this kit when I first saw it--and saw NONE like it on ebay..do you know of any cpk collector sites that may have it?
I think it's called
Xavier Roberts 'Little Pal' kit or something like that...it is definately a make your own cpk kit though

OMG how cool!
I thought of you the other day, Joyce. We went to a used bookstore and they had these old craft books there... I saw this hilarious "book" (like how a cross stitch book is made from the heavy paper) and it showed how to create a "soft sculpture" Mr. T doll! LOL LOL It is basically like what you are looking at with creating your own cpk but it's Mr. T!!! :ha :ha They have two of them for sale there! LOL!!!!!!
1u11aby1ambie - February 15, 2005 11:20 PM (GMT)
LOL!!! I know people create custom dolls from CPKs... at the CPK party... someone had a custom Jimi Hendrix/Elvis, etc!
berry elvish - February 16, 2005 06:13 PM (GMT)
OMG! A soft MR. T?! :ha :mrt
Berryblue - February 16, 2005 06:46 PM (GMT)
LOL!!! Too funny! Elvis and Jimi Hendrix?! LMAO!!
I nearly fell over when I saw a soft Mr. T doll on the cover! LOL!! I may just get one of those books if it's there next time...(which it most likely will be there! I don't really think this is something that would be in high demand here! LOL!!) :ha :ha
Berryblue - February 16, 2005 06:52 PM (GMT)
OMG Joyce! I just saw the pics you added above and the one on the right looks A LOT like the one at Zellers...clothes and all. I am thinking the only difference was that her teeth were on top...but it is the SAME smile, hair, and clothes. (!)
I will continue looking... I know they have a few different ones at WM that are tucked in the back so I am betting that they will be more visible next time I get there.
I know I saw a regular (non-corn silk) Asian girl with the two side ponytails that were braided wearing the "cheerleader type" pink and blue outfit.
I do remember seeing one Asian cornsilk in particular that had gorgeous straight hair. There's something about the straight hair...it just looks so shiny and beautiful. :D
1u11aby1ambie - February 17, 2005 12:51 AM (GMT)
I'm not 100% set on getting that doll on the right. I like that outfit best though. I've seen the face on other dolls with the 2 bottom teeth & thought they were really cute... but the Asian one up there isn't as cute as those others I saw. I'm wondering if that's just a bad angle/picture, or if her hair needs bangs! I really wish they had a straight hair doll with bangs!! They have the 6 twisty braids style, but that would mean I need to take out her braids.
Well... if anyone of you see the doll on the left... especially in either of the outfits, please pick it up for me!
Berryblue - February 17, 2005 07:48 PM (GMT)
I will be going to WM again soon so I will look for one with bangs. I can't remember if I even saw an Asian cornsilk with bangs...I know one had the fake hair bangs that were brown (and of course, way too light to even match the rest of the hair lol)
I'll keep you updated :wave
Shellberry Shortcake - February 18, 2005 06:01 PM (GMT)
omg-Joyce--at wm yesterday--I saw the one on the right--but her head piece was a headband with bangs & the 2 little braids...appparently the add on pieces are pieces with hair!
they are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!
I nearly got myself 3 of those...LOL

Just bumping this... thinking maybe I should get a girl and boy cornsilk (instead of 2 girls)...
girl: my fave face (no dimples, closed mouth smile) with straight bangs... just like this but in either this outfit or the floral top/jean outfit

boy: the smile with the 2 bottom teeth (see pics above) and not the brush cut hairstyle (I want the hairstyle like this pic)
Berryblue - March 9, 2005 05:01 PM (GMT)
LOL I hate that brush cut!! lol It looks soooo goofy!
I will be looking! :wave
1u11aby1ambie - March 11, 2005 11:41 AM (GMT)
I was out today and saw an Asian cornsilk girl like this one:

but in a different outfit. I didn't like this face as much in person as I thought I would. It might be the eyes on the non-Asians that looks good with this smile... or maybe the doll needs bangs (or maybe it's cuter out of the box). So... now I'm not sure I want an Asian boy with that face after all... ~sigh~
And I saw some prototype pictures of dolls that are coming out in the fall... and there was an Asian girl pictured with straight hair *and* straight bangs!! So maybe I will wait until the fall to get my cornsilk girl... as long as they still make the dolls with my fave face then!! :cpk :cpk :cpk
