I went to the Sanrio store this weekend, and saw the cutest new character! I instantly fell in love with him!

isn't he the cutest? they had this purse, wallet, and change purse:
and I wanted them really bad! My husband said I could have them for Valentines Day... but he won't buy them till then! no fair! If I already know what I'm getting... why not get it now? I did however buy the large stuffed teddy of him and the compact mirror for my purse... whenever I get it... and the pen!

I really miss having a Sanrio store! Cindie and I used to frequent the one in our 'home town'. :D I haven't seen one since then, you know! There is a small stationary store in the mall in Enid that sells some Sanrio stuff, but it's expensive. :hkangry

I remember going to a store in the mall in Syracuse that had some HK stuff and it was expensive too.
Of course, Claire's is expensive and that place seems to be the only store that carries HK stuff other than WM or some other random store.

I'm sorry you don't have a Sanrio store! I know in high school my favorite character was the keroppi frog, and Melanie bought me the cutest pen with little plastic keroppi frogs inside a clear tube that would bounce (remember?) and it got stolen at school.. I was so upset. well, this CC monkey is now my new favorite! :yogurt

I'm the biggest Sanrio fan on this board.I love Hello Kitty and the old skool characters,Keroppi,Pekkle,Spottie Dottie,Pippo etc.

Oh!!!! I think he is soooo cute too! I bought some stickers, stationery, pen... I thought the coolest thing is that his stationery is scented like bananas!! Did you see the CD case that is shaped like his head? I think that is so cute! :hkhappy

My favorite character currently is My Melody/her lamb (bet everyone knew that??) & she is hard to find, but I hear she is everywhere in Japan!!

Mel & Cindie... what was your home town?? I know there isn't a Sanrio store in KS. There isn't one in Boston (or MA) either! There used to be a really great little shop in Boston that sold things & FAO Schwarz, but both those closed since I left home! I almost feel like I was the person keeping them in business (especially that little shop)... LOL :lol: I was buying things for me and 2 friends at the time.

Erin... I know all the Sanrio is super duper expensive in Canada! I liked finding the Sanrio things in Toronto though... some of those shops carry the Japanese imports, so I didn't mind paying extra. I was glad to be in Vancouver though... there were a bunch of little shops that would carry things, but I would only buy stuff that you can't get in the USA. My boyfriend would go every month or so to the Sanrio store to get me everything else I wanted!! (Now I can just go get everything myself!)

(Ack! I forgot that I didn't have my Hello Kitty blinkie on this board! Off to fix that now! LOL)

Joyce, My Melody has always been a favorite to me... I think more than Chi Chai and Keroppi. When I was a little kid my aunt got me a My Melody toothbrush, toothpaste, and matching case in my stocking for Christmas... and I had that toothbrush till I married (I didn't USE it all those years though... LOL that would be pretty sick). I would just look at it cause it was sooo cute!
and no... I haven't seen the CD case!!! I would want that too!!! and I LOVE your little blinkie!!! That is really the cutest thing!!! :love

I had Hello Kitty and Little Twin Stars mostly when I was younger. Right now, I love My Melody more than those 2... I think partly because they have her little sheep friend in everything now!

the purse is $15.95, the change purse is $8.50, and the wallet is $12.00. I think they're pretty good priced! that CD case is so cute! and I needed one too, I was thinking of buying one, so I will get that one nw that you showed it to me!

Erin, Mel and I grew up in Southern California.

Well, to be honest, I grew up in Northern California, took a few years off in Oklahoma then finished out high school and got my first job in Southern California. :D I do miss the High Desert...and the ocean! And can you believe no Sanrio stores here?! But of course this is the middle of the country...nothing gets introduced here. I bet most of these people couldn't even name one Sanrio character. Even Hello Kitty, which takes up an entire aisle to herself at Target and Carlton Cards. :ugh

oh, I sooooo miss the beach too!!! I get so homesick for it!!!
