Cool!!! Now I know how the pics get posted with thumbnails... you post it as an attachment, instead of the image button!

PS Can everyone see the logo up above?? It's not hosted on the internet anywhere... I uploaded from my hard drive!!

Oh... still not quite sure about that "code" button.

what is the difference between that and a quote?

CODE

berry elvish - January 31, 2005 10:48 PM (GMT)
hey, maybe the code button is so you can insert code without it turning into the image or whatever...so you can say, "hey, Joyce, this is the code for your ticker that I made you:
CODE
[url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]
[img]http://www.TickerFactory.com/ezt/d/4;49;0/st/20050716/e/SP+Convention/k/2e56/event.png[/img]
[/url]

and it will look like code instead of the ticker!

hmm..interesting interesting...

I want to figure out how to have a clickable pic to my website....

1u11aby1ambie - February 1, 2005 12:33 AM (GMT)
Cool Mel!! That's a useful feature if you're trying to help someone out!! :wave

Shellberry Shortcake - February 1, 2005 12:48 AM (GMT)
ohh! I got the pic to attach from my comp...I tried a few days ago but it said that the board doesn't support files of that type...

I'm glad it works now--that comes in SUPER handy!! :wave

1u11aby1ambie - February 1, 2005 12:54 AM (GMT)
I don't know why you got that problem Shell... maybe your file was too big?? It says a max file size of 500 K, but I'd probably stick to 100 K or less, just because it takes forever to download big images (I'm on dial-up!) Uploading from the computer *is* useful! No more going to photobucket to upload first! LOL

Shellberry Shortcake - February 1, 2005 07:02 AM (GMT)
yea--I don't know what the prob. was....the pic I uploaded today was actually bigger than the one I tried the other day...

who knows...

It is SUPER not to have to upload to a free site first...I love it

This is great, lol :wave

When you upload your images from your hard drive as an attachment it automatically goes into our board "images" therefore you should refrain from using that feature all of the time because it will use of the 16 MB of space that we have here.

Don't get me wrong this feature can be used just not like crazy. I can keep them in our account but I will have to delete them after a little while to give us more space.
So, all in all, we should try to use photobucket or another image host for the most part.

As of right now, we are using a little under a MB of our 16 MB of disk space (4.6%).
:)

Shellberry Shortcake - February 2, 2005 04:35 AM (GMT)
unfortunately--it was short lived for me....

I tried to upload Banana with his CPK and it didn't work.lol
I'll stick to MA I guess... ;) :wave

1u11aby1ambie - February 2, 2005 11:32 PM (GMT)
I figured the images wouldn't stay in there forever Erin! Is the allotted space for all the board images or just the file attachments?

Berryblue - February 9, 2005 04:51 PM (GMT)
It doesn't include the board skin or logo/banner on top but it does include:

Attachments
Avatars
Emoticons
Pips/TeamIcons

So if an image is used as an attachment, I have to manually go in there and delete out old images so it doesn't accumulate.

I'd say use it for tiny images that you are in a hurry to post, but if we make a habit of it, the job of emptying out the old files could be quite tedious. :)

Shellberry Shortcake - February 18, 2005 06:29 PM (GMT)
if we went in ourselves and deleted the images out that would work too right?

maybe you can have a clean up pic attachment day once a month or so?
Then you wouldn't have to do all the crappy work.

Berryblue - February 18, 2005 06:48 PM (GMT)
I just tested that since Melanie had asked the same question earlier to me. lol
It looks like if you just go ahead and delete the images yourself from the posts, that they are also deleted from the board's file manager. I guess I will have to wait and see what happens.
Anyway, the best thing to do when posting images is to clearly name what the images are so when I do go to look in the file manager I can see what everything is :) This way, I will be able to tell if things are being deleted and whatnot. :wave

1u11aby1ambie - February 18, 2005 11:50 PM (GMT)
I can delete that test attachment... that will be my delete test. :ha

BTW, is there any way for me to view the list of all the attachments I've added?

Shellberry Shortcake - February 19, 2005 04:24 AM (GMT)
that is weird--when I attached it came directly from my computer--I didn't have a chance to rename it or anything....

I think I only have 2 attached right...?
:bunny

Berryblue - February 20, 2005 10:33 PM (GMT)
Joyce, anything you've attached has been deleted. I know that you had a CPK logo and since you deleted yourself, it is gone completely. I don't believe there is a way for anyone other than the administrator to view attachments since they show up in the board's file manager which is located in the Admin Control Panel (CP).

Shell, the only attachment that I have that you have is the "Chubbles" one. :)
