RollChan1985 - January 30, 2005 02:29 PM (GMT)
Yesterday while I was in the car,I drove by a Mcdonald's.At the drive thru,I saw a poster of the Happy Meals selling My Little Pony toys with Duel Masters for boys.
Anybody know about this?. :ernie

I'm pretty sure that Shell already knows about them. I may buy some at yard sales this summer. :P

I think I just want the first one... I haven't gone by McD's yet though. I think the promo started on the 27th.

Shellberry Shortcake - January 30, 2005 10:13 PM (GMT)
yep, lol
I've known about them for a little while--they did come out on the 27th--Joyce if you want that first one-I'd grab her quick.....I bet the number one toy is the one that sells out the fastest...

I saw a glimpse of them on a commercial on Saturday and had heard about them briefly but was I seeing things or were these ponies pretty much like the ones you buy and not those tiny cheap hard plastic ones from the 90s with only tail hair??
From what I saw, they look SO cute.
I may have to go there JUST to buy a pony and nothing else since I never eat there.

1u11aby1ambie - January 31, 2005 09:00 PM (GMT)
I think the mane is hair, but the tail is plastic??

wildfire - January 31, 2005 09:31 PM (GMT)
Yes the tail is plastic. My girls already have a few. We've had them here for a few weeks already. They are kinda cute, but I wish the tail was real.

Shellberry Shortcake - January 31, 2005 11:20 PM (GMT)
yes-the tail is plastic--but imo these are much better than the last ones from mcd's....

these could actually pass for a mlp baby pony this time.. :wave

My hubby's friend's wife is a manager at McD so we can buy the set all at once without getting the food. That came in handy for the Beanies but I'm really excited to get these! A set for me & a set for my daughter. I saw a few complete sets on ebay selling for around $10-15.
They look way nicer than the older ones, for sure.

Shellberry Shortcake - February 1, 2005 12:43 AM (GMT)
if you're going to get the toy--you may as well get the food...the toy costs just as much to buy seperately....

rip off!

I remember when you could buy the toy without the food for .99 cents.... :wave

1u11aby1ambie - February 1, 2005 01:06 AM (GMT)
I think they price the toy differently depending on what it was. Some toys are still $0.99, but the more popular ones cost almost as much as the meal!

wildfire - February 1, 2005 02:29 AM (GMT)
They are pricey just to buy.wasn't the mlps last time all made of hard plastic?

Shellberry Shortcake - February 1, 2005 04:42 AM (GMT)
ohh--Joyce I'm coming to your town for happy meals, lol

Ours have been NOT .99 cents for at least 7 years--& that's for every toy-doesn't matter what it is--even the toddler toys..

Yea-the last mlps were all hard plastic--& smaller.. :wave

wonderberry - February 1, 2005 02:04 PM (GMT)
well my state is dumb! our McDs don't have them yet... no fair! <_<

purplestar - February 1, 2005 06:22 PM (GMT)
We don't have to pay very much, around $1.00 a piece in Canadian money with no tax (15% here)...which is not so bad nowadays. I think she gets them for free, but I'm not sure. It also saves on gas, we don't have to drive to Mcdonalds every other day! And our truck is a gas guzzler but I love it.

1u11aby1ambie - February 1, 2005 10:04 PM (GMT)
I paid like C$2.49 for those Madame Alexander dolls!

Shell... it could've been like 7 years since any of the toys were $0.99!! (When were the Babe toys out?? That's the last time I got any for $0.99) I just noticed that the Hello Kitty happy meal toys (the first time they came out) were like $1.69 but the beanie babies were $1.89. Of course, that McDonald's charged $2.39 for Happy Meals. It's hard to find the $1.99 Happy Meals in Boston.

Shellberry Shortcake - February 1, 2005 10:17 PM (GMT)
oh Joyce--I remember the carded beanie babies you could buy for 1.99 if you got a value meal or something...

I don't remember when babe came out--I think the last toys I remember buying were the hello kitty ones that came with the watch & plush keychain kitty in a mcd's oufit....

:wave

I have some McDs mlps from the late 90s and they were kind of a vinyl with a tail with hair and the mane was plastic. They were also small and really kinda boring. I just caught a glimpse of them in a commercial and was busy doing something else and didn't catch it all but they looked like a baby pony to me.

I may just buy one...not the food though because I don't eat that stuff. :eww

Shellberry Shortcake - February 2, 2005 04:25 AM (GMT)
lol-I love that smiley!

I wonder if asking for 2 toys instead of food would make them give you 2...

hmmmmm.....on another note--I have some toddler toys from not too long ago-anyone know how long they change them out? I wonder if I can swap one for a pony...
