Title: Help! Can't Remember This Toy's Name
Description: *identified as Chubbles

whitEG - January 30, 2005 09:31 AM (GMT)
anyone:

i know this is a very vague description but i recently watched a home video from my second birthday, 1987, and i got this toy that i remember so well, but i cant think of what it is called and i would love to find another one.

it was a stuffed animal sort of, but more of just a round shaped guy that was very pale yellow and had a hood on. when the lights went out his nose would light up and he would make this sort of high pitched ringing noise for a few seconds.

i used to hear it every night before i went to sleep for years. does anyone have ANY idea what i'm talking about?
p.s. i'm new here!
:carebear

Yeah!!! It's like Shell has everything!!!

But my new Hello Kitty alarm clock uses a 9V battery!! So, I think they should be around for some time still!

Shellberry Shortcake - February 3, 2005 01:12 AM (GMT)
LOL JOyce--
I *might* have everything...I just have to keep it all hidden so bob doesn't see how much I *really* have LOL

thank goodness about your clock! phew....

anyway--they are getting rid of all film cameras -did you know that?
they are going to stop making 35mm film and 35mm film cameras.... :wave

Marza Girl - February 25, 2005 01:34 AM (GMT)
OMG! I was just about to post about this! I totally forgot his name! I had one just like that when I was little. Same color and everything!

Thanks so much for posting that pic (and name)! :D

Good googly moogly, we had these evil critters when I was married to my ex(no, not wildfire) those toys were evil!!!!!!especially when the batteries would go weak, spooky, (I'll be sleeping with a flashlight tonight)!!!

1u11aby1ambie - February 25, 2005 06:59 AM (GMT)
I also heard they were getting rid of VCRs! The only thing I don't like about digital cameras is the short battery life...

Berryblue - February 25, 2005 05:50 PM (GMT)
heehee... I can't imagine that thing on weak batteries. LOL

Shell, I didn't know about the extinction of 35mm cameras. Wow.

1u11aby1ambie - February 25, 2005 10:33 PM (GMT)
LOL... It doesn't help that my camera uses a special kind of battery too. I wanna be able go months without recharging... not just 2 hours (constant use).

Shellberry Shortcake - February 26, 2005 05:31 AM (GMT)
yea--bob's brother owns a camera shop--was telling us about how companies are clearancing out their 35mm cameras...

our camera uses a special battery--then we have the other one with rechargeables...

we haven't actually used a film camera since...my gosh I don't even know when, lol

& I heard the same thing about VCR's TOO!!! :eyepop

wonderberry - March 1, 2005 02:42 PM (GMT)
how funny... I've never seen or heard of this! wow.. Shell... I can't believe you even had one! is there anything you don't have? that's just great! I wish I could hear the noise!

I think most alarm clocks take 9-V for the backup if the electricity goes out... all mine do. I didn't know they were getting rid of film cameras though! I like digital, but they don't last as long as actual film! (I'm talking for history-sake) They said that a whole generation of photos will be lost because of digitals. Still... I love my digital! I just bought a DVD-VCR recorder. I'm converting all my VHS onto DVD. it's great, and it takes any kind of DVD disc (-R,-RW,+R,+RW). I know they're stopping with VCRs, so I don't want to lose my old home videos, ya know? :yogurt

berry elvish - March 1, 2005 04:57 PM (GMT)
Great Detective Work, Shell! :D

Hey, I let the kids use film cameras! I am not spending a ton of money on digital cameras for the whole family, LOL, so they get the ten dollar ones from Walgreens. I take in their film for developing and walk out of there with pictures and a free roll of film every time. It's half the cost of developing your film elsewhere since you have to buy film and pay for developing. And I feel like I haven't had any pictures to add to my photo album since my 35 mm film camera was stolen almost two years ago. I used to develop at least 2 rolls of film per month. Now, I don't and I don't even take cd's of images into Target to make prints on their Kodak machine. I'm afraid they won't turn out good or the machine won't take cd-r media. I hope they don't discontinue film cameras.

dancinstar88 - March 29, 2005 03:26 AM (GMT)
I actually had one of these. I might also still have it. I think that it stopped working, but it may just be a dead battery so I'll check on that.

Berryblue - March 29, 2005 05:20 PM (GMT)
Wow. Very cool! I hope it is just the battery :)

mary - May 31, 2005 06:02 PM (GMT)
OMG. i remember those, reminded me of an ewok, i never had one, didn't like them

RollChan1985 - June 2, 2005 03:10 PM (GMT)
