Is there any Anime fans on this board?.I'm a huge Anime fan (AKA Otaku) and wonder if we can make an Anime board?.
My favorites are Sailor Moon,Dragon Ball,Inu-Yasha and any artwork done by Leiji Matsumoto.

I'm familiar with some Anime and have really fallen in love with some stuff, like Inu-yasha and Hayao Miyazaki's movies (Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke). I've recently had my eye on Sugar: A Little Snow Fairy. I've only seen the first episode, but it is so cute! I guess I like sweet stories and have not been that big on animated violence themes. :D

I liked Spirited Away but not so much Princess Mononoke... I actually got nightmares from that one!

I don't own anything myself but have really enjoyed catching an episode here or there of Inu-Yasha. I am always open to new things and like to read anime comics casually but no titles I can remember. I am really a casual fan :)

I don't watch any of the TV series...I did see a few episodes of Rorouni Kenshin (spelling???) Kinda like a Highlander theme, not bad.
Would you consider Vampire Hunter D anime? And Blood, The Last Vampire? They are Japanese anime but they are movies. They are very good, especially VH D. I have the DVD with the 2 movies on it (VH D and VH D Bloodlust). LOVE THEM. Beautiful to look at and a great story.
Blood, The Last Vampire is very short, you feel like you are seeing the middle of the story. I hope there are more to come...
I just found out that the VH D novel is finally being translated to English...big news for me.

My all time faves for Anime are Vampire Hunter, Metropolis, Ghost in the Shell, and, of course, Akira.
Simply great pieces of work.

Is Ghost in the Shell a movie or a TV series?
I looked it up so I could download some/it and a lot came up. Many said "Stand alone complex"
What is that?
What should I start with?

I've watched a lot of Hello Kitty movies mostly. But most of the stuff put out in the USA isn't quite the same (it seems more "americanized"). And I have no idea what they are saying in the Japanese versions (I borrowed a Japanese language one from the library), but it was pretty interesting to watch.
