I used to love these. They were made by Remco from 1980 to 1983 and were based on the classic Universal monsters, Dracula, The Mummy, Frankenstein, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, Wolfman, Phantom of the Opera... They measured 3-3/4 inches. Remco did make larger versions and new versions since but these "mini monsters" were just too cool. There was a Mini Monster Play Case too that was predominately made out of cardboard and vinyl. lol I used to have a lot of fun with these toys. Does anyone else remember them?

:unsure: wow, I have never seen those before. They are cool and really good quality for being kids' toys. I would only see that kind of stuff now for collectors.

Sometimes I see them for a relatively good price but many times they go too high for me (on ebay). I would *love* to get my hands on some of these. They were SO much fun. Too bad we can't just pull all of the old toys we used to love out of a "magical" portal. LOL

LOL Erin! you're describing these toys, and I'm thinking I have no clue what they are... then I look at the link, see the pictures, and whoosh! memory returns!
This site rocks!!! making me remember everything from my childhood I thought I'd long since forgotten!

never had them though--at least not that I remember..my brother would have been 2 in 1980..so I don't think he had them either...

Man, that vinyl playcase ROCKED! LOL Never thought I'd say that before!
These were so much fun to play with. I used to hate "the creature" though. :lol:

Well,I feel stupid. :wacko: I've seen those at the flea market.I never knew what they were.If I'd known they were worth so much I'd have bought them just to resale them :huh My son actually has the creature from the black lagoon glow thing.He plays with it.He has this thing for glow in the dark toys. has quite a collection.My fav is his glow in the dark preditor from the movie A v P.
