LOL, I have like 8 invites also... I accidentally invited myself when I sent out my invitations... I thought it was asking for my info first! but it allowed me to get a wonderberry email! yay!
For those who don't know... you can only get Gmail if you have an invitation!!

LOL!! That is hilarious that you invited yourself by accident! Man, I can't believe I didn't do that! lol

I have 10 and I've had them forever now so I thought I'd better start asking around. :D

I love gmail! I actually prefer to use that account over my stupid hotmail one. The only thing good about hotmail for me is that I can link it to Incredimail and use really cool backgrouds and images. lol

I think what I really like about gmail is how it keeps your messages organized (not to mention the GBs of space)

wonderberry - January 27, 2005 03:24 AM (GMT)
I love my gmail too... I never had any problems though.. I wonder why you did? I think right now Google is testing it out... cause they let you make suggestions and comments... then they will make it better. That's why it's kinda exclusive still. But I think in the future they will have cute backgrounds and such. :lambie hey! new emoticons!!! I just noticed!!! hahahahaha this lamb is great!!!

I just got a gmail account, but I haven't gotten into using it yet. Maybe because I haven't figure out how to transfer my saved messages over there. I don't think there's a way.

Berryblue - January 27, 2005 04:49 PM (GMT)
I think you're right. I don't think you can transfer stuff (yet)...Maybe a suggestion should be made for that?

They also said that you can link it to Incredimail (aka POP server) yet so I'm waiting for that. lol While I don't use Incredimail constantly, I do like the "option" of writing with the fun backgrounds and things. :)

Shellberry Shortcake - January 27, 2005 04:49 PM (GMT)
hmmm..I don't know Joyce-maybe you just forward them all?

I think there was something wrong with my cookies....I was able to log in ok from Bobs computer...
who knows, lol

I should start using it more... :cool

Berryblue - January 27, 2005 05:04 PM (GMT)
Great idea Shell. You could do that and then you'll have all the message over there and have their addresses there too. :smurfywink

1u11aby1ambie - January 27, 2005 10:44 PM (GMT)
I did figure out how to import my address book, but not my saved email messages. I just have way too many to forward every message individually. There probably wouldn't be an easy way since gmail can't read Yahoo message formats... and there is no way I know of to download all my Yahoo messages to my computer either. Maybe a gmail suggestion I can make is for them to have a way to download multiple messages from gmail to my computer easily.

I have mail messages in my Yahoo that I would just like to download to my computer to archive it. And I've been doing it the tedious way... copy-paste each message!

Shellberry Shortcake - January 28, 2005 12:56 AM (GMT)
I know about 2 year ago I imported a folder of emails to my desktop.
I think yahoo has changed that feature since then though... :wave

1u11aby1ambie - January 28, 2005 03:43 AM (GMT)
Yeah... maybe if I paid for a yahoo email account, then they would give me a download feature!

Shellberry Shortcake - January 28, 2005 07:43 AM (GMT)
haha--
is that part of paid yahoo service?

I didn't realize but I bet when they gave everyone more storage--they took some stuff away....

stuff I didn't use I guess since I don't miss anything.. :wave

1u11aby1ambie - January 28, 2005 10:41 AM (GMT)
I don't think Yahoo has a download feature... even if I did pay. I tried looking for something on their help site... and if they had it and I would have to pay to get it, I'm sure they would've said something! I think they don't want anyone to be move all their messages out of their service easily anyway, so that you'd have to keep using theirs! :ugh

Berryblue - January 28, 2005 04:43 PM (GMT)
I do know that Yahoo took away access to a POP server once they added more storage. I was looking into it for Incredimail and found that bit of info out.

Shellberry Shortcake - January 29, 2005 01:19 AM (GMT)
well-I know I downloaded stuff to a folder on my desktop because it was about the first convention 'blow up'

:wave

it was to download to a folder/file on your comp--not to another email.

BUT you can have all your incoming messages forwarded to another email--mail that would be the best thing to do for you now?
:wave

I guess I could forward all my new incoming mail there. I just want to be able to download all the messages I already have in there. And if I don't use my Yahoo account, then they would close it & I don't want them to do that before I got all my messages out of there.
