Title: Just Checking...
purplestar - January 24, 2005 11:17 PM (GMT)
Well I guess I have to say something, then post and see what the heck I did....I picked Boromir cuz Sean Bean is amazing. And Boromir's death scene is my fave movie scene EVER. It's so beautiful and sad and honourable and brave. I watch it over and over.
OK here goes...
purplestar - January 24, 2005 11:19 PM (GMT)
I don't think my sig worked out. Oh, well. More to do.
Berryblue - January 24, 2005 11:30 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I'm not sure what the deal is with the fonts and colors not working...ever *sigh*
I will look at the help boards to find a possible reason... :)
Shellberry Shortcake - January 25, 2005 12:20 AM (GMT)

if you type something out first, then highlight it and then click what you want, like font geneva...then highlight it again and click size Large and then highlight it again and click color purple, it will work! And I have Normal Mode selected on the far left. B)
Shellberry Shortcake - January 25, 2005 05:37 AM (GMT)

LOL!!! YAY Melanie!!! Woohoo!! We need some smilies having a party now!
That seems awfully involved, doesn't it though?? Wow. LOL
Shellberry Shortcake - January 25, 2005 05:53 PM (GMT)
it does seem awfully involved, lol
:o
p.s.
I will be sending you the link to a smiley site....
Berryblue - January 25, 2005 06:02 PM (GMT)
Cool!! I am always up for more smilies :yogurt
berry elvish - January 25, 2005 07:42 PM (GMT)
You know that is just how I like to do it anyway. I type out everything first and then just highlight it and click the button. To me it's easier because then I don't have to pause in my typing, which I do kind of fast anyway.
Perhaps this will work too? Yep, I only highlighted it once and then just went through and clicked font then size then color without going back to highlight every time. That is faster eh?

Thanks for helping us with that Mel!!! :hkhappy (aka this is my practice post)
Berryblue - January 25, 2005 08:44 PM (GMT)
Yes Thank you for clearing that up! I was wondering what was going on with that. For some reason, I can't get it to work for me... not sure why but whatever... lol
Shellberry Shortcake - January 25, 2005 09:06 PM (GMT)
ok-let me try that... :wave
purplestar - January 28, 2005 08:54 PM (GMT)
Well all I forgot to do was click the "close tags" key when I made my sig. All better now.
Berryblue - January 28, 2005 11:50 PM (GMT)
Figured out why I couldn't get it to work for me. I don't use IE, I use Mozilla Firebird as a browser and there are always problems with java and that is what we use when we change fonts, colors, etc...
So I am trying IE right now and that is how I got it to work above :D
Shellberry Shortcake - January 29, 2005 01:21 AM (GMT)
woo hoo Erin!
:wave
I see it up there :drinky
1u11aby1ambie - January 29, 2005 02:33 AM (GMT)
I use IE... my brother asked my mom to use Mozilla even though she normally uses IE... What is the difference??
Shellberry Shortcake - January 29, 2005 05:12 AM (GMT)
good question Joyce--Erin dear what is the difference? :wave

Here are some reasons to use the Mozilla navigator/browser:
| QUOTE |
Navigator
Tabbed browsing gives you a better way to surf the net. You no longer have to open one page at a time. With tabbed browsing, open several pages at once with one click. And now your homepage can be multiple tabbed pages.
Popup blocker lets you surf the web without intrusion. Advanced popup blocker notifies you when popups are blocked. You can also block pop-ups on a site per site basis.
Image Manager lets you block images to block offensive images or to speed up the rendering of web sites.
Find as you type gives you another way to navigate a page. Just start typing to jump from link to link or to find a word or phrase within a page.
Plus all the features a modern browser should have including: Advanced security settings; Password, Download, and Cookie managers; Themes; multi-language and multi-platform support; and, the latest in Web Standards. |
I, personally, love the added security that comes with this browser. We have been using it for a few years now and love it.
The only problem I've really encountered were java-related but I just move over to IE for anything that uses a heavy dose of java (ie: web builders)
One of the best features is the automatic popup killer. You never even know that it zaps it because it silently blocks them because it's built in and you can allow certain popups too (at times you need the popups for passwords, etc...)
It's a great alternative... here's the link if you'd like to look: www.mozilla.org

ohhh--thanks for posting that Erin...I'll check it out later... :wave

Thanks for the link Erin. I have the google toolbar installed and that blocks pop-ups, but I haven't had pop-ups since the XP service pack! I think the different search features it has sound good. I already have the google toolbar... but others sound nice! I browse by opening everything I want to open in different windows already, so that's not a big deal to me.

Firebird (Mozilla) also is WAY more secure than IE. There are too many "holes" in IE's security so a lot of people like to use Firebird as an alternative to IE. :)
