Title: Robotech (anyone Remember?)
RollChan1985 - January 22, 2005 04:48 PM (GMT)
Does anyone here remember this Transformers type toyline called Robotech?.
They were transforming jets, motorbikes etc that would transform into robots. :P
They even had a Anime with it too back in the 80s.
My favorite idol in Robotech is Lynn Minmei (next to Molly Ringwald). She's the
Chinese girl that owns a restaurant and sings.
It's known as Macross in Japan. ^_^

I used to LOVE Robotech when I was a kid. Minmei is a cutie pie but spoiled, I like the princess (I don't remember their names!) And wasn't there a little kid in green with glasses? I always mean to see if I can find it on dvd...not the movies or whatever called Macross, but the show we used to watch when we were kids. I'd like to watch it from the beginning to get the whole story.

Berry Elvish,
I think you're confusing Robotech with G-Force (in North America) or Gatchaman (in Asia). :) I loved both of these animated episodes.
I was a huge fan. I actually still have some really cool G-Force items here and at work.
My office has two really nice Alex Ross posters of G-Force and I have some small PVCs of the entire roster of characters in storage. (BerryBlue's Shortcake items rule the home. LOL)
On the topic of Robotech, my fave character was Rick Hunter (of course!)

Not necessarily the truth...lol I see some wrestling figures hanging around the living room. :ha
And the Alex Ross posters are awesome and I never even watched G-Force before. I think Ross can take any character and create sheer awe :D
And on the topic of Robotech...I know nothing

To Croww,
Do you have the Japanese Gatchaman figures and stuff at your office desk?. :P
Croww - February 3, 2005 02:25 AM (GMT)
The Gatchamen figures are in storage. My posters are on my office walls, a section of my Media Art classroom. On my other desk I have some toys scattered everywhere. I have some football, some hockey, the odd figure (like my Darth Maul) here and there, a stuffed South Park Kenny, and a stuffed Dilbert. I love my toys.

Lisa hayes or dana sterling, And I think all the ladies who have never watched robotech should sit down and watch it, it had everything you could ever want in a anime, it had action, romance, 50 foot walking mech suits that turned into all kinds of things, My fav was robotech 2 the sentinals. And croww, glad to see another guy on here, I am trying to get wildfire to watch, but she just looks at it and picks at robotech, but she did say she'd wach gatchaman (battle of the planets to you 80's purist)!
But lyn minmay, come on I just wanted a mech to land on her, she was such a tease, think lana on smallville, that chick is cut from the same cloth.
Sniper.......Out!!!!

Hmmm, the name G-force does not ring a bell with me, but I was very young at the time so I looked up the two anime shows I can remember watching as a kid....and guess what, you're right I was confusing Robotech with something. I was confusing it with Voltron. The princess, the planet, the kid in green with glasses...it's all coming back to me now.
I remember Minmei from Robotech and that she was in love with one of the guys, but not much else.
Sniper, my husband has just informed me that he has the first several episodes (the first boxed set) of the American version of Robotech on dvd. I suppose I could sit down and watch it sometime. :ph43r:

As for my fave Robotech series... I must say I'm a huge fan of the Macross Saga.
Just my nickel... (darn inflation!)
