Title: where is everyone?
mary - June 5, 2006 04:37 AM (GMT)
it seems to be a bit slow on the board lately. did we run out of toys to talk about? YIKES NEVER. LOL

hey, mary. :D I think the board goes through lulls during certain times of the year, like summer vacation. :woodpink For example, I am currently visiting my mom out of state and then when I get back, I have to pack my 8 year old up for Cub Scouts Camp...then we'll be back here at mom's for a bit more. I do still try to get to the board once daily/nightly to do any modding that might come up, but while I'm here at Mom's I don't post much due to her Internet being dial-up and the fact that she only has the one phone line. :)
I love this board so much and I love it's members...even the ones that just lurk. We also don't only have to chat about toys in the General Chat section. And you know how hard Elia (Rollchan) tries to get conversations started? I like her.  Seriously though...I'm here, just busy.
How's your summer going so far??

I'm not really doing much of anything myself . . . . just going to work every day, and crabbing out when I get home (I like to think of myself as the original Maryland Crab, since I'm from Maryland, and I tend to get crabby).
I celebrated my 24th birthday on May 18 (my parents gave me an MLP card, but it was a G3 one).
I also found some AWESOME vintage Montgomery Ward and Sears catalogs on Ebay recently. I currently have the 1984 and 1985 Montgomery Ward Christmas Wishbooks, and the 1983 and 1985 Sears Christmas wishbooks. My sister has the 1986 Sears Wishbook.
It's kind of funny about the 1984 Montgomery Ward catalog. Do you know who's on the cover? Here's your Hint:
:moose
I find it hilarious that the Montgomery Moose plush is on the cover of the Montgomery Ward catalog.

Ummm... well for me... I was just coming to post that my internet service has been down and I have no idea for how much longer, so I'll have limited access until it's fixed.
berry elvish - June 7, 2006 03:32 PM (GMT)
:( Oh, Joycie! I hope it gets back up on the spot. I bet you have a lot of artistic things going on to keep you occupied until then, am I right? ;) I've done a bit of gardening, myself...hurry back to us and fill us in!
Happy Summer!
Well, Happy Birthday Geatornez! Isn't May the most perfect month to have been born? Verrrra cool about finding those wish books. It would be sooo neat to see all of those toys from that moment in time. Also, what a great reference for a toys collector! :party

I've just been busy also. I log on quickly to see if there's anything new, then I'm off again. We've just moved into a new house, and I've barely unpacked my computer. I still have tons of unpacking to do, and so far only dial up is available in my area... so I hate using the internet. :P
I hope everyone is doing well though!
p.s. geatornez - that would be so neat to see those catalogs! it's so neat the things that people keep!

I have a Xanga blogger if you guys are interested in checking it out. It's in it's beggining stages so don't mind it.
Elia's Xanga pageOne of my friends is having a yard sale this weekend and she's gonna save the MLPs and Strawberry Shortcake dolls just for me. ^_^ At least I'm getting my childhood ponies back.LOL.
