Title: My super weekend buys!

On Saturday, I went to Target and I didn't know they made SSC Valentine gummy candies, so I got a pack for 75% off today. And then I found all the Bandai stuff on clearance at Fred Meyer (it's like a department store/grocery store in one) and got Papaya Parrot plush for <$2.50. I also looked at the clearance clothing rack, wondering if there was anything Hello Kitty in there, and I found some Hello Kitty Pjs for $10! They are size youth XL. And I love the design!

And on Monday, I went out shopping and hit this plaza/strip mall that I'd never gone to, and I found vintage 1983 CPK sheets (just the flat sheet and pillow case, missing the fitted sheet)... but it was brand new and only $5 (clearanced). The odd thing is that this was NOT a thrift shop, but just a regular discount store (TJ Maxx). I was looking for an inexpensive dust ruffle for my bed so that's the only reason I was looking at the linens!

Then next to the store was a fabric store... so I had to stop in! Anyway, I found some pink fabric with tiny lambs all over it!!! It has an antique look... the colors are softer and more muted than modern designs. The thing is whenever I go into a fabric store, I'm always looking for a fabric just like that! (The other one I look for is a small strawberry print fabric). I would've bought that whole bolt of fabric if I had enough money. LOL But I just bought 2 yards. And I found the princess SSC vending machine stickers, so I spent all my quarters there & I'll have to go back because I didn't get the ones I wanted most. Then I hit Kmart to pick up something for a friend, and I found the SSC foil valentines and CPK cartoon valentines on clearance for 75% off, so I picked up those (since I hadn't found them before Vday... and I guess all the other places were already sold out).

Excellent finds, 1ambie!! I love that you found mip cpk sheet/pillow case! That rocks! :D Those pj's are adorable!

I had a great shopping weekend too. I didn't get very much fun stuff, but I did get a nice pair of converse shoes. They have an extended partat the top that zips on or off creating a cool 'boot' look which I adore. :D I also found an Evil Dead 2 t-shirt with a pic of Ash holding his gun over his head and the words "This is my boomstick!" written on it on clearance for five bucks. Cool. I also found a hollywood frame for a twin bed and a full sized head board at a local thrift store in Enid. I needed those for my room at my mom's house. :D Oh, and best of all, I got Tribble! My mom acquired a ferret for me from someone who was moving and couldn't keep him. They had named him Trouble, but I changed it to Tribble. And Dr. Reid said he was the cleanest, healthiest-looking ferret he'd seen in a long time. Oh, and the sweetness of Tribble will melt your heart. :D I have to get a picture of my (now) four ferrets. :D

Congrats on your finds! The ferret sounds so cute! You'll have to post a picture of your whole pack(?).

PS Is Tribble from Star Trek or something else?

berry elvish - February 25, 2006 05:02 PM (GMT)
Yep, a Tribble is a furry little creature from the Star Trek Universe. ;) There's this phenomenon with ferret owners called 'ferret math' and it seems to be true in my case. I started out with just one and then had five and then one again and now I'm up to four! I do not plan to have more ferrets, honestly!
