Title: WANTED: Original SSC House
Description: ... with furniture if possible ...
Mr. Actionfigure - February 6, 2006 06:02 AM (GMT)
I have a 3 year old daughter who loves Strawberry Shortcake. She has some of the new figures but there isn't a good house for the new ones. I would love to get her an original house with at least some of the furniture if I could.
I can't look on ebay for it because for some reason the site hasn't been able to load on my computer for months now.
If anyone has any info for me I would truly appreciate it.
Thanks!

how old is your daughter? if you want the complete house be ready to spend over 500.00. i really wouldnt' buy it so your daughter can play with it. unless she is the type of kid who really takes care of her toys

I'm not worried about trying to keep it mint or anything. I just wanted one, even if it was somewhat battered, that she could play with.
But $500 is way more than what I expected for it. We'll just have to make due with what we've got.
Thanks for the heads up mary.

Orange Blossom's OrchardThat is a link to my Strawberry Shortcake themed site. :D My BHH (berry happy home) cost me around $350 not complete. I did get a bunch of furniture with it though. This was a few years ago...uhm going on four, I guess. Prices have dropped considerably since then. I think I have a picture on my site of how my BHH currently looks. I spent some time getting all of the missing parts and pieces, which were the swing, the attic stairs, a working front door and the greenery that goes in the flower boxes by a couple of the windows. If you can't view eBay, you could try looking in the
For Sale section on the Strawberryland Townsquare ezboard. I have been considering selling mine, but I'm not quite ready to make that decision. :P Anyway, if you didn't mind the house a bit beat up, and since most of these houses have chips or cracks in them somewhere (the type of plastic used to make them has gotten very brittle over the years), you can probably find one for $150 or less. Good Luck!

Another option would be to customize a Fisher Price house.

Great suggestion, Joyce! I had forgotten, but I actually have customized a Playskool dollhouse for my daughter's SS dolls. I took it to my mom's so she'd have something to play with there. Out of sight out of mind. I know I had a website somewhere online with pictures of it, but alas, I've lost it. :( I think that it turned out great and it fits the vintage and Bandai dolls perfectly. And since it's a bit younger than the vintage BHH, the plastic is different and not as brittle. You are sooooo cool, 1ambie! B)

I knew you had customized a doll house, so I guess it was the playskool one, not fisher price! It turned out great, and it's a great option since the vintage one is so $$$.

Thanks for the feedback. I actually hadn't thought about customizing a different house. I will definitely look into that now. :thx
