I can't believe this seller. I dunno if she was having a bad day or was PMSing... or WHAT... but I can't believe she said what she did to me. Well... I am NEVER buying anything from her & I hope y'all will take my advice & do the same.

The auction is HERE for a SSC pillowcase, a small fabric Christmas ornament, a small dry erase board, & a pack of match cards.

Here is basically what I asked in a question (I can't find my original question to post):
I mentioned that she had a price listed in shipping costs of $8.95 & that her auction description states this: "Buyer is to pay shipping and handling which is determined at the end of auction by zipcode. Below is a postal calculator for you to check how much shipping and handling to your area is BEFORE bidding (It Gives You the OPTIONS available for shipment)." I asked her if the description was correct or if the $8.95 was correct, as I felt the $8.95 was too high & I wouldn't be bidding if that was the shipping price.

Here is exactly what the seller said back to me:
QUOTE
Ok, let me get this straight. You want to know if the shipping is $8.95? YES,
UNEQUIVICAL YES. I forgot to remove the part about shipping and handling determined
at the end of auction because I have a standard set of terms that I just paste into
my auction listings. SECONDLY, You're complaining that my shipping is too high from
what I gather. If you dont like the s/h, then dont bid. The item is only 99c. You
are acting like I am trying to rob you. The shipping is that high because the item
is so low in price and I am NOT the only one who handles their auctions in that
manner. There are MANY people who charge 99c for an item and over ten dollars to
ship it. I believe ten dollars in total for that lot is acceptable. Especially since
you won't find them somewhere else. I would rather keep them than let them go any
cheaper. Please do not bid because I WILL NOT lower my shipping fees. You know, we
do need to make a little bit of profit and apparently you dont understand that it
DOES cost us money to list on here. Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.

I can't believe her... I was not asking her to lower the shipping cost... I was simply asking if the description was right or if the $8.95 was right. I also KNOW about the fees... & for that auction, I would think that at the most $4 would cover the shipping costs & then maybe $1.50 more would cover the fees... that is NO WHERE near $8.95. I never asked her to change her shipping cost... I know how upset Sellers get about that & I wouldn't want people making me change prices I set either. Man... I just can't believe her. I won't bid on her auction cuz the shipping price is too high exactly what she said... I do that quite often on auctions... I only mentioned it to her, cuz I was seeing if the $8.95 was correct or not. :hkangry

Well, personally, I think that when people charge so much for shipping to list their item at .99 cents, they are the ones with the problem. I do feel that it is a mild, very mild, form of robbery. It's just unethical in my opinion. I understand charging a handling fee...boxes, packing tape, time, gas, etc. are all things that one must pay for, but If someone is going to charge ten dollars to ship a tiny lot of stuff that could be shipped priority mail for $3.85 (and the post office will send you boxes, scales, and labels for free, not to mention if you pay for your shipping online, they will even pick up your packages!) I'm not even slightly interested in bidding on the items...even if it were only one cent! I think it's against eBay rules for a person to way over-charge on shipping, but they are allowed some choice in the matter.

As for this person's response to you, it was quite snippy and she was obviously offended by your inquiry. If I had had that experience, I wouldn't bid on his/her stuff either.

if that lady wants more for her items, then she should have made the starting price higher or set a reserve. and she's not a very good seller to offend potential buyers... even if she was offended, she could have been friendly about it.

OMG! How rude! You were just asking a question about what was the correct shipping price and you *did* state that you wouldn't bid if the $8.95 was the correct shipping price.

Ebay only doesn't like sellers to overcharge on handling because ebay doesn't collect any final value fees on S/H. They consider it a form of "fee circumventation" and a seller can get kicked off ebay for doing this. (Ebay will over look a few dollars extra though.)

I didn't know that! see, I just bought a cover for my iPod, and I paid one cent for it... but the shipping and handling was $14... I didn't mind though, cause that's still more than half the price I'd pay at the store for a cover.
