1u11aby1ambie - January 19, 2006 09:32 AM (GMT)
I remember watching Gummi Bears, Snorks, Popples, Pac-Man. Is Shera... She-Ra???

TickledSunriser - January 20, 2006 09:06 PM (GMT)
I remember all of those... the ones that always get forgotten that I like are:

Yum Yums, Snorks, Shirt Tales, Get Along Gang (I know lots remember them here), Poochi, Glo Friends, The Little Bits, Maya the Bee, David the Gnome, Gummi Bears, Popples, Richie Rich, Pac-Man, Rubix Cube, Q-Bert, Noozles, Maple Town, The Little Kohala (I think that is what it was called), Denver the Last Dinosaur, The California Raisins, Dink the Little Dinosaur, Wuzzles, KISSY FUR, Punky Brewster (the cartoon), & Hugga Bunch. The list can go on much further, but I don't care to think anymore. :P

I go through that all of the time when my husband mentions something. I usually remember things that I didn't even know that I knew about! LOL It happened just the other night when we were watching Godzilla: Final War. I haven't watched Godzilla (any of the old Japanese ones) since I was a kid, yet I kept remembering things about all of the monsters and those little twins. And then I remembered that there was some cartoon when I was a kid that had Godzilla's baby on it...his name was Godzookie. :D And I loved Dungeons and Dragons the cartoon. It was my ultimate favorite. I didn't really get to watch many of the "girls" shows, so I've never seen She-ra or Rainbow Brite...and very little MLP or Care Bears. We tried watching the Gummi Bears, but it wasn't for us. We watched Fraggle Rock, The Muppet Show and Fairy Tale Theater...and Kung Fu Theater, but those aren't cartoons or toys!

RollChan1985 - January 22, 2006 02:23 PM (GMT)
Don't forget the Ewoks,Super Mario Bros Super Show,The Adventures of Link,Captain N,Tranzor Z,M.A.S.K.,Inspector Gadget,Captain Kangaroo,and much more I can't think of.

I loved Maple Town BTW.One time at my outing group,we were talking about our favorite shows/cartoons from the 1980s and I told them about M.A.S.K. and Maple Town. They didn't know what the heck I was talking about. That happens to everyone. They don't know anything about Maple Town or M.A.S.K.

berry elvish - January 24, 2006 08:51 PM (GMT)
I like Reading Rainbow, Mary. I also used to love a show called the Electric Company, but the only thing I can remember about it is when they'd do a Spidey comic thing and say, "tune in next time when Spidey will say *sound* Wah!"

RainbowBriteRox81 - January 25, 2006 12:02 AM (GMT)
Yeah, Joyce, I meant She-Ra. I edited it above though. ;) Oops! ^_^ And I loved Sesame Street & Reading Rainbow as a kid. I noticed that it's still on with the same guy *Lamar?*, too Mary. Logan watches it sometimes.

berry elvish - January 25, 2006 07:32 AM (GMT)
The host's name is LeVar Burton. :D He's rad!

RainbowBriteRox81 - January 25, 2006 08:18 PM (GMT)
Ah, ok. Close, :P He is, isn't he? ^_^

i LOVED maple town myself. between my sister and i think we had almost all the toys and some of the houses. i actually started collecting these little toys called furryville, theyre just like maple town. theyre little animals with clothes that come with assorted things: baseball bats, books, etc. i have one thats a painter. theyre adorable. the only difference from the maple town toys are that these are plush, still posable, but soft, not that hard plastic with the felt over it. i was just browsing the girl toy section of target one day and fell in love with this little turtle called slow poke, he came with a jersey and a baseball hat and glove. he's too cute.

i loved zoobilee zoo. lol :D

Berryblue - January 31, 2006 04:16 PM (GMT)
Zoobilee Zoo was great! And btw, the show has been on TV continuously for 15 years but hasn't been picked up by a network since way back.
AND...they are looking to bring it back. I guess they want to continue on with a new series and specials. The original cast is all there too so that's just awesome. They've actually been performing live shows throughout the years and presently. :)

AND...I loved Poochie, Kissy-fur, and Punky Brewster! :D

oh man thats so awesome. i cant believe they continued to do shows even after the tv show wasnt on the air anymore. i cant imagine that a new series would be as good as the old ones, they never are. but thats cool nonetheless.

Kissyfur was awesome. :D Here are some pics that might help you remember, though the show didn't do too well, even though it was one of my favorites. My dad even loved it & used to watch it with me, he loved the theme song. ^_^

Interesting to hear what I found out from Toonopedia.
QUOTE (Toonopedia)
Aside from the four specials, 16 episodes were made for the first season. Then it went on a year's hiatus, and was back for the 1988-89 season with nine new episodes. DC Comics adapted it into a comic book in 1989, but only one issue was published.

Kissyfur made enough of an impact to be vividly remembered by anyone who chokes on sufficiently warm, fuzzy cartoons. But it's rarely been glimpsed in recent years.

If it has 25 episodes & 4 specials, then WOW... I didn't know it had more than Rainbow Brite. I believe Rainbow Brite only had the 13 episodes, 2 live-actions, 1 movie, & 4 read-alongs. I am just stunned at this news... I guess Kissyfur the show was okay then. ;) I loved it. I hope it comes someday on DVD... I will deffinately buy it. :love

Berryblue - February 3, 2006 04:42 PM (GMT)
I totally remember those bad ole' gators on Kissy-fur! lol Thanks for the images, Tickled :)

Also, thanks ZipperCat for the link :)

Regarding Zoobilee Zoo:

I was thinking I wouldn't like a new series to actually sit there and watch but mostly I was thinking that it is just too geared for a kid. There are some things I have watched lately that I remember ADORING as a kid, and now I can't understand why! WTF was wrong with me!?!? LOL!!!

JustSmurfy - February 13, 2006 05:07 PM (GMT)
Not really cartoons but Today's Special, Welcome to pooh corner and Dumbos Circus

Donalds quack attack and I think the other one was Mickey's Mouse tracks...they were both made up of all the old mickey mouse/disney cartoons.

I loved Maple town however up until I googled it a few months ago I couldn't remember the name of the show, I just remembered Patti Rabbit. I found my patty rabbit figure thing awhile back.

Also Disney back in the late 80s/early90s(I'm thinking 89/90/91) had a show around lunchtime called Lunch Box, it was aimed at preschoolers. They had all different cartoons and shorts....paddington bear, spot the dog, one that was about a duck...can't remember the name...something "quack quack" maybe, curious george etc

Little Bits, Weinerville, grimms fairy tales

The Family Channel back in the early 90s used to play Beatrix potter cartoons..peter rabbit etc, I loved watching those

There's another obscure 80s girly cartoon I remember having a tape of called Pretty Piggies. They were colored pigs (blue, pink, etc) that went on different adventures.I was on-line one night on some site, and I found Pretty Piggies which is another cartoon I totally forgot about.
