Title: Character Televisions - Question
Description: Spongebob, Dora, Strawberry Shortcake

Does anyone own one of these? I have a Spongebob one that I bought secondhand and I can not figure it out! It works and I can change the channel and have it hooked up to an antenna, but I can not get it to the input/av channel so that I can hook up a game console or DVD player to it. I do not have the original remote and the universal one I bought would not work on it. So...anyone have their owner's manual? Could someone help me out? I will call the manufacturer, but I have a feeling that they won't be able to send a replacement remote since I don't have a receipt for the TV. :( There is a menu button on the tv, but I can't seem to find anything that would help me get to the AV/INPUT channel.

Did you get this working yet, Melanie? I don't have any of the Character TVs or I'd try to help. Someone out there has to have one though...
I hope you got it straightened out :)

I haven't tried this with the dvd player yet, but using an RF adapter worked for the Playstation...so I'm hoping to get one for the DVD player and that way I won't have to worry about trying to get the tv on the aux. channel. I can only get it on the aux. channel with THE remote. So, maybe it'll be fine once I get a chance to buy the adapter. :D Thanks for asking.

I was just going to suggest looking at the display models at the store and seeing if that could help you out? I couldn't find any sort of on-line instruction manual.

Mike's not home right now but maybe he would know about the adapter working or not. He's "Mr. Electronics" so he should have some sort of idea...lol
He should be back tomorrow and I'll ask him then and get back to you :D
And that's a good idea that Joyce had too. I wonder how much info you could get...or maybe you could peek into a box to look at the manual (if it's easily accessible).

I don't have one, I've looked it though and I have a regular 13inch TV with the AV hookups in front.
To use a game system you have to hit the "game" button on the remote. Probably a problem if you don't have the original remote. Game systems won't work unless the TV is in video game mode.
Unfortunatly on most of the TVs with av thing on the front you have to have the remote to get it in game mode
