Hey girls! Erin, you have a beautiful toys board!!!!! It looks like it's going to be a success! The forums make me want to jump in. :D My name is Toni, and I've been active in the Strawberry Shortcake community for some time. (My ID is usually Raspberry Tart, but TeresaBarbie is a favorite!) I started re-collecting toys in 2000, after being married for nearly a decade. I realized that it was time to start hanging on to toys that had made me so happy. Toys that are close to my heart are SSC, Care Bears, Dolly Pops, Glamour Gals, Weebles, and especially the old style (1970's era) Little People, including the Seseme Street set. My hobbies are shopping at thrift stores for toys and designer purses, selling on Ebay, and getting to know online friends. We don't have children at this time, but we do have a doggie daughter (mini party-mix Cocker) and a kitty sister (a longhaired grey and white tuxedo'ed cat.) I look forward to posting more on this board. :)

Hello, Friend! I'm glad you are here, Toni. This site just wouldn't be the same without you. I am loving this site too.

So, do you collect the glamour gals dolls? I saw some little barbie type dolls in an antique store around here and I wondered if they were glamour gals, but they seemed a bit too big maybe. Anyway, Welcome to the 80's Toyland!!

Hi Melanie! It's great to see you here! :)
I used to have a lot of the Glamour Gals, but seem to have lost and misplaced all of them through the years. Erin sent me Loni, one of my favorites as a kid, but it's more of an admiration instead of a full-blown obsession yet! LOL!!
That would be awesome if you'd found some in that antique store. The back of mine says "CPG (I think??) 1981; Hong Kong" so that's something to look for. I could really find some room for some... they're so cute!!

Yep CPG! It says the same on another toy you forgot to mention, Toni, SEA WEES!!! LOL
I have just three Glamour Gals but I *love* them. One of my fondest childhood memories was going to Service Merchandise with my Mom and begging her for a Glamour Gal. She always let me choose just one per visit! LOL And of course, I thought it was really cool that they had a character named "Erin". Although, aesthetically, my favorite was always Danni. ;)
BTW...I love Dolly Pops too (another fave memory, getting Dolly Pop Town for my bday) :)
